Bravo; well done.
America: flat on her back with her feet in the air.
If it comes to a contested convention that is the way the process works.
I remember that was the most exciting process I had ever seen.
Dear Jeff,
I am not going to engage in personal attacks. You might as well put a Hillary sticker on your car. I am the only one who can beat Hillary!
Sincerely,
Ted Cruz
Dear Jeff
I am going to win the Republican nomination on the second ballot. Thank you for your interest in the race. I look forward to your continued support.

Again, good letter.
....now, about those burning bridges....
The Donald is doing something very similar. What he is saying is that the cronyism and delegate theft has to stop. He wants to return the party to the One Man One VOTE ideal that a Republic is supposed to be founded upon. Again, just like the Democraps, the party bosses had better concede or face utter destruction as the GOP will implode.
Both parties (Trump & Cruz) need to move.
If it’s only Cruz that humbles himself and extends the olive branch, the effort will fail to unite the Republican party.
Trump needs to humbly confess the wrongs of his public hate for Senator Cruz (and others).
Trump needs to have some real change in his character in order to be our President. Humbly embracing Senator Cruz with a repentant heart is a good start.
If both Cruz and Trump agree to meet in the middle, your letter is worthwhile.
Vanity posts belong in Breaking News now?
The further I go, the more I think of Cruz as an “ideologue” - losing the forest for the trees of his own crusade.
Jeff, I don’t know if Cruz listens to you or not, but if he does, could you also ask him to clear up the NBC issue in a federal court if he wants an executive position, possibly VP?
Good job. I am a Trump fellow, but your point about divisiveness bringabout a horrific Clinton outcome must be realized.
Sorry, Jeff. Many of the Cruz supporters are already saying that Trump and his band of idolizers are on their own. They simply cannot support a man who has no Christian values,, believes in abortions and in an isolationist policy. And if things don’t go his way he’ll put his finger on the little red button and blow us all to hell and back to assuage his ego.
Well said.
Thank you. I hope to change my tag line soon.
Let’s pray he takes your advice. He’s young and will rebound well if he does this sooner than later.
They got the House, no actions. They got the Senate, nothing. Instead we have the controlling Party, supposed adversaries, fully endorsing all of the rogue administration policies by their failure to withhold funding.
Now we are expected to support their agenda for the 2016 election.
Cruz, the principled Conservative is considering to continue, doing the bidding of these worthless frauds.
Cruz's brand is at stake here. His listening to reason, as prescribed here by your note, will make him or break him, permanently.
This is a lot of speculation on what candidate or scenario would make the Republican more electable in November. Every one could be argued without proving anything.
Trump being handed the nomination now could be the worst possible scenario. He loses out on valuable campaigning experience he could gain in the remaining states. Trump is learning from his losses how to be a better candidate. We’ve seen him make serious shifts after his Wisconsin gaffes and loss.
A contested convention might not be a “nightmare scenario.” The deals that could get cut at a contested convention could be structured in a way to make all sides happy and unite the party.
The anti-Trumpers are a factor. Can you win the general election without getting them on your side? If Trump improves himself as a candidate by campaigning through California and then throws them a bone at the convention to get their support to win the nomination, then he could emerge much stronger than if he were to be given the nomination today.
Besides, if Cruz dropped out now, Kasich would stay in, and would be in a position to consolidate the anti-Trump vote and gain delegates, possibly putting the establishment in a stronger position at the convention if Trump still doesn’t make 1237.
Jeff, I’ve read nearly every one of your election related posts, and I must say, I think you’re the most level headed Cruz supporter on Free Republic.
Even more important, you’re a person who loves this country, and can set aside your personal preference for what’s best for our nation. I can’t tell you how much I admire and appreciate that.
Thank you for gracing this forum with your presence.
