And it sounds like you may not be in the aviation industry. FAA spokeswomen in DC may not be up to the minute with waivers and permissions obtained from his local FAA inspector. And it’s a safe bet he is operating in some sort of advanced capacity such as Part 135. Which means he has a very intimate relationship with an FAA inspector.

This is nothing.

“Yeah, it’s when they ground unexpectedly that it’s news.”

That isn’t even news. Typically it’s made when a pilot reports one of 1000 components on the minimum equipment list doesn’t function correctly. With electronic parts it happens a lot. It happens unexpectedly.
It also can happen deliberately as part of a plan managing a fleet.

The source for my posts is the New York Times. Not me. I provided a link.

That was from the NY Times. It also stated that if the plane was involved in an accident while flying unregistered, the insurance company would have an out, to not cover.

This is an idiot journalist. 100% guaranteed this was under waivers and the close knowledge of the local FAA inspector who has control of his operation.
Some reporter was running tail numbers and ran to the FAA spokesman in DC.

Every video from every campaign stop has shown him arriving either on his Boeing 757 or one of his helicopters. The Annual may have lapsed on the Cessna, but it will NOT affect his campaign. Consider the source.

Owning an aircraft is expensive. One must have scheduled maintenance by licensed mechanics at predetermined intervals to satisfy licensing requirements. Helicopter rotors need to be x-rayed after a certain number of hours as I recall (I used to skydive a lot and was looking for a lift up from anybody and everybody)

Apparently its being flown and the best people in the world botched aerial DMV tasks. Maybe Trump is ready to do government work after all. I wonder if the plates on Trump’s limos are up to date.

“Apparently its being flown and the best people in the world botched aerial DMV tasks.”

Aerial DMV. You reveal much with that phrasing. I’ll try to simplify it for you then. Think of a car with a license plate expired in a state that requires an emissions repair.
The owner has gone to MVD before it expired and said they need a temporary operation slip. Commonly upon showing insurance and unexpired registration, MVD will issue them a paper form giving them a few weeks or a month to complete the repair.
A cop running the plate might see the pate as expired, but it isn’t and he will discern that as he pulls it over and sees the “waiver”.
Its a little different with the FAA, but hopefully that will give you a picture as to how a jet can be legally operated, even though a reporter on a flight tracking website might think it is expired. Happens every, single, day.

Stick to corn and caucuses and fat women.

.
When you buy a plane from a dealer, you can get tail numbers over the phone if it is a standard model.

You know nothing about the FAA, Ops Specs, and the relationship that operation has with an FAA regional inspector.

Idiot.
