A cold-eyed view of allies has left Obama with few overseas friends
Washington Post ^ | April 18, 2016 | Greg Jaffe and Griff Witte

For someone who preaches the importance of diplomacy and outreach, even to longtime enemies, President Obama can be awfully tough on his friends.

In recent months, he has offended most of the United States’ Persian Gulf allies. “All I need in the Middle East is a few smart autocrats,” he joked privately, according to a recent profile in the Atlantic magazine. Publicly, he has said he “weeps” for Saudi and Kuwaiti children.

The United States’ European allies, he complains, have grown too dependent on American firepower to keep them safe.

Even the United Kingdom, a U.S. “special” partner, has received criticism. Obama seemed to blame the postwar chaos in Libya on British Prime Minister David Cameron, who he said “became distracted by other things” and didn’t do enough to bring order to the fractious country.

[The real loser in Barack Obama’s worldview? David Cameron.]

In the next several weeks, Obama will take a series of overseas trips to firm up U.S. alliances and help set the president’s foreign policy legacy. The first of the trips begins Tuesday with stops in Saudi Arabia, Britain and Germany, where the president will tackle an ambitious agenda that includes battling the Islamic State, constraining Iran, sustaining support for sanctions against Russia and warding off a British exit from the European Union.

Even before he became president, Obama introduced himself to the world as a multilateralist who aimed to solve the thorny problems of the 21st century collaboratively. “True partnership and true progress . . . require allies who will listen to each other, learn from each other and, most of all, trust each other,” Obama told adoring crowds in Berlin in 2008.

“The United States’ European allies, he complains, have grown too dependent on American firepower to keep them safe.”

He is spot on, but has done nothing to change that.

Silently, they all sit and ponder upon the wisdom of the intellectual crowd to give him the Nobel Peace Prize, and how nothing he’s done for eight years....gives value to the prize earned.

He ought to weep a little for the black children with potential he keeps in inferior neighborhood schools by denying choice.

“True partnership and true progress . . . require allies who will listen to each other, learn from each other and, most of all, trust each other,” Obama told adoring crowds in Berlin in 2008. Meaning of course you'll do what the great and powerful Barry tells you to do.

Turning in the Nobel Peace Prize that was given to him on absolutely fraudulent grounds would be a start, but would not hold my breath for him to do the decent thing.

The headline is false; Obama has a lot of friends overseas. Hamas, Hezbollah, the Palestinian Authority, ISIS, the Taliban, Boko Haram, Al-shabaab, Lashkar-E-Taiba, the Muslim Brotherhood, Al Qaeda, and many other organizations that share his values love Obama.

A more accurate statement is that Obama’s enemies (The UK, France, Germany, Israel, the United States, Christians, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, and Canada) know how much he hates them.

All talk by Obozo. Euros need every Dime diverted from Defense to keep the masses semi happy with their brand of socialism. That is more important for Odunga, to be more like the Euros especially the political socioeconomic part. Of course it is a house of cards system. We are getting close to a reset.

If I remember correctly the “World” wanted Obama as President, they even gave him a prize before he had done anything.

The United States citizen had done the heavy lifting from the end of World War I into the new century. Both in blood and gold Americans defended and supported the world.

All they got back was scorn and ridicule.

The Europeans used the money they should have spent on defense to create a socialist cradle to grave utopia. This utopia was build on sand, and now a wave of angry and hateful third world men are about to wash the foundation of European civilization away.

Where once America was the “Arsenal of Democracy” she has been weaken by the same socialist creed that undermined Europe and may not be able to save Europe from their own stupidity for a third time.

The history of Europe is a history of constant wars, America gave Europe over 60 years of peace, and they pissed it away.

This commentary began as a comment on how Obama is viewed today compared to how he was viewed before he was elected and all I have to say is Europe got the American President they wanted and they will pay a price for that choose.
