Yes, the stakes are very high. And they are very real.
The stakes for this nation, Mohammed, not the personal stakes for you. You may be a good person, one who would become a good addition to this nation of immigrants. However, when the government has deliberately skewed its immigration processes to turn a blind eye to anyone who is looking to cause the demise of this nation, the country cannot afford to cater to your individual concerns.
It is not personal against you, but it is personal in defense of ourselves. History shows that muslims do not point out the snakes in their midst, and in many cases they do not oppose the venom of terrorism wielded by those snakes. So, how can we as a people establish that you and your family, as well as all of your co-religionists, are neither snakes nor tolerant of them?
