Cruz has no followers outside Texas. I am exaggerating this (just a bit), but you get my point, he won’t possibly win the presidency.

He’ll win the states Romney won, and no others; he may even lose NC, the only shaky Romney win...

However, I seriously doubt Trump would beat her either; too many hip white college educated voters will reject him. they were Romney’s best demographic, in terms of participation, and Trump cannot win without them...

Ironic isn’t it; one of the worst Dem opponents in years and the Pubs are about to put forward the only two people in the world that could lose to her....

What states can Cruz win that Romney couldn’t?

Cruz has lost a big part of his credibility by sucking up to the GOPe establishment the past few weeks...He won’t have the power to beat Hillary...
Trump WOULD have a lot of crossover votes because a whole lot of democrats can’t stand Hillary...

Trump wins big, among a lot of former democrat segments.

Don’t ever forget that. Big.

Trump is talking about returning American jobs to America. Frankly that is why the GOPe is opposing him (they are all sold out to China) and that is why the GOPe has thrown themselves 100% behind Cruz in a last-ditch effort to overthrow Trump, who is the only person saying it is time to be for American workers once again.

That is why everyone is against him.

These are the people, who have sold out America.

Hey, said many times on here, I’m voting for the nominee. Prefer Cruz but if its Trump so be it. How about you?

Absolutely. I'm critical of Ted Cruz for many reasons, but I don't find it necessary to demonize him.

The same can't be said for many Cruz supporters I've seen, who seem to feel that the only way to tout their preferred candidate is to portray Donald Trump as the devil incarnate.

The American People have seen the hysterical excesses to which the "NeverTrump" crowd has gone, and I think they've had enough of it.

I also think they've had enough of "business as usual" party shenanigans that effectively thwart the will of the voters in some of these states that have canceled their primaries. The optics are not good for Ted Cruz, especially when he brags about it, when in reality he owes his success to the GOPe party machinery that has had to transfer their greased skids setup from Jeb to their desperation insider, Cruz.

Cruz has been fading in both national and state polls since the Colorado fiasco, and I can't see any other reason for such a drop. Not much else has happened since Wisconsin.

Ted Cruz has lost this nomination contest fair and square. Donald Trump is the presumptive GOP nominee. It's time to unify the Party and destroy the DC cartel. Donald Trump will be a suitable instrument fro doing so.

Even at this late moment, there's still a chance for Ted Cruz to pivot and have a chance at being Trump's VP. I'm also of the opinion that, were Trump to win, he might only serve a single term anyway...

Let’s face facts: Cruz can’t beat Trump, and the history of contested conventions is that, in the last 100 years, 75% of candidates arising from contested conventions lost. Another 12.5% only won because they competed against another contested candidate (and one of them had to win). The final 12.5% of contested candidates won the presidency (1 of 8), but in that case (FDR in 1932), the candidate came to the convention with a majority of delegates whereas the convention required 2/3 for nomination.

Cruz has no prayer of winning any more than any other contested candidate with less than a majority of the delegates had.

Those who don’t know their history are doomed to repeat it.

One, of many reasons.

Senator (soon to be President) Cruz is a skillful and convincing debater and a superb orator.

Mrs. Clinton (as well as Mister trump) are the very models of the reciprocal of good debaters. (Clinton being plainly offensive and trump is not only offensive but astonishingly ("very, very, very") inarticulate.

I believe Cruz believes he is ‘Anointed’ of God, in other words, he’s Batshit Crazy.

Makes sense. Trump inspires his followers to only believe in him, the person, rather than an underlying philosophy.

Not all. Trumpers are issues oriented. Immigration and unfair trade.

OTOH, It’s the Cruz Cult that slavishly worships Two Faced Teddy. Cruz says he always opposed Obamatrade yet he campaigned to fast track it knowing ZERO fast tracked trade bills have ever been voted down. He’s a candidate who says the will of the voters must be respected at the very moment he connives to place Cruz supporters as bound Trump delegates.

There is something deeply disturbing about Cruz’s brand of dishonest politics. Yet the loving eyes of the Cruz Cult will never see Cruz for the bought and paid for doubling dealing career politician he is.

“All I can say is I would never vote for the POS. I’ll write in Trump or go 3rd party.”

And if Trump wins the nomination, I take it you would find nothing wrong with Cruz supporters writing in Cruz or going 3rd party?

The disturbing fact is most of what you call Cruz supporters are just NeverTrump party hacks: Like most of his delegates since he lost in the south.

Creating a cult
Keep It Vague; Keep It Simple. To create a cult you must first attract attention. This you should do not through actions, which are too clear and readable, but through words, which are hazy and deceptive. Your initial speeches, conversations, and interviews must include two elements: on the one hand the promise of something great and transformative, and on the other a total vagueness. This combination will stimulate all kinds of hazy dreams in your listeners, who will make their own connections and see what they want to see.

Emphasize the Visual and the Sensual over the Intellectual. Once people have begun to gather around you, two dangers will present themselves: boredom and skepticism. Boredom will make people go elsewhere; skepticism will allow them the distance to think rationally about whatever it is you are offering, blowing away the mist you have artfully created and revealing your ideas for what they are. You need to amuse the bored, then, and ward off the cynics. The best way to do this is through theater, or other devices of its kind.

Set Up an Us-Versus-Them Dynamic. The group is now large and thriving, a magnet attracting more and more particles. If you are not careful, though, inertia will set in, and time and boredom will demagnetize the group. To keep your followers united, you must now do what all religions and belief systems have done: create an us-versus-them dynamic.

First, make sure your followers believe they are part of an exclusive club unified by a bond of common goals. Then to strengthen this bond, manufacture the notion of a devious enemy out to ruin you. There is a force of nonbelievers that will do anything to stop you. Any outsider who tries to reveal the charlatan nature of your belief system can now be described as member of this devious force.

If you have no enemies, invent one. Given a straw man to react against your, your followers will tighten and cohere. They have your cause to believe in and infidels to destroy.

Ted Cruz is ONLY Ted Cruz and there is absolutely NO possible way that he will EVER be president of the USA! To believe otherwise is insanity.

Cruz can't get the 1237 delegates. The GOPE won't nominate him. As the nominee, he would NEVER get crossover votes, nor will he get all of the base's votes. Besides which, in the presidential debates, Hillary would eat him alive and humiliated him in less than 2 minutes flat.

Cruz’s negatives are now the highest in the the race. The more people get to know Cruz the less they want to vote for him.
