TRUMP Likely to Win West Virginia Vote But Lose the Delegates to Cruz
Gateway Pundit ^ | April 16, 2016 | Jim Hoft

Donald Trump is set to win West Virginia but GOP elites will likely give the delegates to Ted Cruz anyway.

It’s the latest state where Cruz will lose but garner more delegates than Donald Trump. Cruz supporters call this a “good ground game.” The Politico reported: Donald Trump has a new enemy in the fight for national convention delegates: the alphabet.

Trump is well-positioned for a resounding victory in West Virginia’s May 10 primary, but his win will be accompanied by a delegate selection process stacked in favor of people with last names at the beginning of the alphabet — rather than his most committed supporters.

It’s a quirk of West Virginia’s mind-bogglingly complex delegate election process that has the Trump campaign on red alert and seems likely to leave the mogul with weaker support at the national convention than he’s expected to earn in the state’s primary. It’s yet another convoluted primary system likely to add fuel to Trump’s complaints that the rules of the Republican nomination process are rigged.

Cruz’s whole gambit is about trying to win on the second ballot. There is not going to be a second ballot. He is on borrowed time.

It’s stunning how in your face this is.

They must figure there is nothing we can ever do about it - and I wonder if they’re right.

Exactly what the Founders envisioned.

Two people get their names on the ballot.

The voters overwhelmingly pick one man.

The delegates are therefore given to the other man.

They wanted it to be fair.

The delegates are the consolation prize.

This is like not keeping score. And Ted is so nice about it, he takes those delegates to do Trump a favor.

He doesn’t want Trump to have to worry about all the delegates he’s accumulating.

This my explanation is just stupid.

It makes more sense than the process we’re about to see play out.

Every day I hate Cruz a bit more. He is nothing but a GOPe Party hack player, scum through and through.

Reality is slowly dawning for trump.

Go ahead and get on the trump train but beware the Cruz campaign knows where the tracks lead.

My understanding is that most delegates are bound on the first ballot.

Keep telling yourselves that.

You're the delusional one.

Ted Cruz has lost. He will have been mathematically eliminated after the next Tuesday or two. Ted Cruz's only hope is to get the nomination at a contested GOP convention, which would hopelessly splinter the party and guarantee a GOP defeat in November.

Most of this “stealing” is getting delegates to Agree to vote for Cruz on the second ballot which is unlikely to even occur.

Reality is dawning for everyone

To republicans, voting means nothing

The party elites just write rules to,ignore the voters

If this is constitutional conservatism then might as well vote for sanders and watch the country burn

Yes. A bunch of propaganda going on with the delegate talk. A good chance that Trump will get the 1237, plus there are uncommitted delegates who can go Trump.

This is the drawback for Democrats trying to choose the GOP nominee. They don’t have the background of working in the system, so it’s harder to high jack the process than Trump thought it would be, thus the daily temper tantrums.

Are they serious? How long has this "rule" been in place and what possible purpose could it serve? I'm sure the Bushes and Clintons like it, along with Cruz, but I fail to see any reasonable explanation for it.
