Parents of fourth-graders at an Oregon elementary school were 'furious' to discover that their children - some as young as nine - had read an explicit sex education book featuring cartoons of sex acts and masturbation, Fox 12 Oregon reported Thursday.
In a letter to parents, Hudson Park Elementary School admitted that copies of 'It's Perfectly Normal,' a guide to sexual health aimed at children ten and up, were passed around to students. .

The book is aimed at children aged 10 and up, and features cartoon depictions of male and female teens and adults. Acts featured in the drawings include male and female masturbation, and sex.
It also discusses subjects such as homosexuality, puberty and menstruation. It is on the state's list of approved books, the school said.

Dear Oregon parents,
You voted for these clowns. You have nobody to blame but yourselves. I’d love to see the local tv news present the explicit diagrams contained in the book without blurring them out and see how parents feel about it. If it’s “normal” and “okay”, they should have no problem showing them, right?

The books are for sixth graders. This is outrageous but not surprising. Remember they want boys and girls to shower together. Not surprised so many teachers are having sex with students. Public schools are full of perverts.
Very few in Minnesota are conservatives.
I had not heard people in Minnesota were conservative. I know there are a lot of Muslims. Oregon is a liberal state.

Let me just say that I refuse to use /s tags. IMO those not
able to recognize sarcasm should be spending their time
at the DU site. My sarcastic side sometimes erupts when
a poster from a reputed liberal state chooses to call

Leftist librarians have prevented parents from knowing about or guiding their children’s readings for a long time, at least 15 years.
AlA is in the forefront and most librarians are readers but not necessarily high end thinkers and march lockstep.
Librarians feel that all children have rights to see whatever they want when ever they want.
Public school Teachers and librarians are not much different from each other in this aspect.
