2016: The Year Americans Found Out Their Elections Are Rigged

“Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president. And the same thing applies to governors, and U.S. senators and congress members.” – Former President Jimmy Carter The 2016 election has been a wild ride, with two insurgent grassroots campaigns literally giving the political establishment a run for its money. But as the events of this presidential primary season play out, it’s becoming clear the U.S. election — and even more so, the presidential race — is a big scam being perpetrated on the American people.

Events from the last week have exposed the system as an illusion of choice and a farce. They have reinforced at least one study showing the U.S. is an oligarchy rather than a democratic republic.

The Wyoming democratic caucus took place on Saturday, purportedly to allow voters to have their voices heard in the race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. Sanders lost the Wyoming caucus by winning it with a 12 percent margin.

Wait, what?

I work with a liberal who will definitely vote for Hillary. After one of Bernie’s first sweeping wins I made the comment that too bad for Bernie voters Hillary still won more delegates. She had no clue what I was talking about. There’s got to be a lot of disenfranchised dimocrat voters this year.

Well said, RetiredArmy, in your post #18!

I must add that the lack of replies to your succinct and powerful comment shows just how far this nation and alas, even the supposedly “conservative” members of this forum still don’t get it. Until this nation turns to God rather than relying on men who think they are “gods” to save us, we are doomed to wallow in the mess we have made of government.

Many of our Founding Fathers unabashedly spoke of “God’s will” and “Divine Providence.” In the Declaration of Independence they wrote, who is responsible for the laws of nature but God—certainly not man nor nature itself. They wrote, “endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” Politicians today are reluctant to even mention God, less they loose favor with a great deal of their voters. Oh, they will boast that they read the Bible or go to church on Sunday, but they show little of true Faith and a daily walk with God.... even the candidate who proclaims that he is God’s anointed one.

Perhaps it is impossible in today’s decadent world to be a strong President or congressman and still be heard urging the nation to turn to God. I just pray that if Trump or Cruz is elected, he will surround himself with men of true Faith to help make the decisions.

I have to agree with everything you said. I think the final nail was with same sex marriage.

“Repealing the 17th would fix everything within a decade.”

So corrupt state legislatures will elect honest US Senators?

“I think the final nail was with same sex marriage.”

I think the final nail was taking God and prayer out of schools, which began a domino effect of removing God from almost every facet of life. When Christianity was a part of school life, kids had a taste of a good foundation and grew up to be better adults than children do now — generally.

A small example: I collect old printed music and have several songbooks from schools from the late 1800s through the 1960s (I sang out of them myself). There are as many hymns as any other type of song. It was part of life every day for kids in their formative years. Now it’s illegal.

I have called for a run-off where the nominee needs 50% + 1 of the votes. You'd need a run-off because there could be many candidates. If no candidate reaches 50% + 1 in a round then the bottom candidate(s) are eliminated. The elimination should be based on a minimum percentage.

Iraq has no history of democracy yet they came up with a nearly foolproof way to have an honest election. Purple dye is the ticket; and if you are “allergic” to purple dye, too bad, you don’t get to vote. And end absentee voting. Show up or no vote. Only exception are for active duty military outside the country.

Each state must hold a primary election. The two parties claim they are private companies but accept taxpayer funds, stop the taxpayer funding.

Tepeal the amendment that allows voters to elect senators and return that function to the states.

So the lame excuse for the 17th went in the first place. The facts show that more corrupt State Legislature people were run off in short order than there have been Federal folks run off for corruption and far fewer have ever been prosecuted.

State Legislatures are more likely to represent the will of the people they represent than anything Federal, even the US House. It's also a lot easier and cheaper to run for the State Legislature which means it's easier to throw out corrupt people who make it to the Legislature.

There's a better than 50/50 chance BarryCare would have made it into law if State Legislatures could recall Senators who were not representing the people of the State even with the democrat fascists holding a majority in both Houses of Congress.

Of course, the Party Machine has less power in most places which means the little people have an insufficient number of their "Betters" telling them how to live and why exporting US prosperity and jobs to enrich national corporations is going to happen whether the little people like it or not.

That was your point, that all the right people won't dictate to all the little people, right ?

Impeach all federal judges who have violated the constitution. Require congress to live by our laws.

Three things need to happen:

1) A Constitutional Amendment to ban publication or broadcast of the results of public opinion surveys within 60 days of an election.

2) A law criminalizing receiving payments in cash or in kind for advising candidates for public office.

3) Abolishing the so-called “Commission on Presidential Debates”.

How about the two political parties being legally required to

How about repealing all laws privileging political parties, especially what you refer to as "the two"?

Start with zero public funds for "primaries".

“That was your point, that all the right people won’t dictate to all the little people, right ?”

Wrong.

My point was that federal-level bribes and influence would simply extend into and control corrupt state legislatures. The state legislatures would then become local organs of The Party. What we see at the national level would also include state legislatures. We wouldn’t even have representation at the state level.

The greater the rewards the greater the risks those so inclined will take and the rewards at the Federal level make what can be stolen and hidden on the local level look like small change.

You can't change human nature by squeezing the balloon and thinking now all the bad air is in one spot. The easier it is to monitor someone the easier it is to catch the bastards who are lining their pockets. Sooner or later they screw up and without the DC Bubble to protect them sooner or later they get caught.

The stronger the Party is, the easier it is to hide the corruption and the local Party has nowhere near the power national Parties do other than in a few large cities. Which is what was going to all go away after the 17th was passed !! How's that working out?

The legitimate options seem kinda sparse.

IMO, tar, feathers and lots rope are still legitimate options. It worked for our founding fathers.

Election system reform.....

Don't have primaries. Only the final election. Winner is the candidate who raises the most money. Must declare amounts raised every Monday. 50% of declaration goes directly to pay off the national debt. Money in any amounts can come from anywhere on the planet.

Elections here in the U.S. were rigged a long time prior to 2016. Now BOTH sides are doing it as before (we thought) only one side (demodummies) were the culprits.

Stocks and tar and feathers.

Meanwhile, men and women paid with their lives to keep us free while these scum sucked the life out of this nation. It makes me livid and disgusted beyond any profanity I know.

Always remember the MSM covered all this up for decades upon decades.
