RNC member: Trump can win with 1,100 delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/13/16 9:05 AM | Pete Kasperowicz

Posted on 04/13/2016 7:00:47 AM PDT by nralife

Republican National Committee member Randy Evans said Wednesday that Donald Trump would likely be able to secure the Republican nomination if he captures anything more than 1,100 delegates, short of the 1,237 delegates needed for a simple majority.

"If Donald Trump exceeds 1,100 votes, he will become the nominee even though he may not have 1,237," Evans said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Evans' comment is good news for Trump if it's a sentiment shared by other RNC members, since Trump is at risk of falling short of a majority of delegates by the time of the convention in July. But Evans also warned that if Trump slips much more, the nomination would likely fall to someone else.

I have a feeling Trump will hit 1237 without too much trouble. It may not be til June 7th but he will hit it. You can see how he is now up in the 50”s polling for the next 4-5 contests. He is getting stronger numbers all the time as it becomes more evident Ted Cruz is not going to make it.

Cruz will be pretty much at a standstill after the NE primaries. He has nowhere to go. That’s why he’s engaging in all these loser level activities like trying to steal delegates for the second ballot at the convention and let people think its for the first ballot. The chances of a second ballot are infinitesimally small.

LOL. There won’t be a second ballot.

Here is reality for you:

If Trump falls short of a majority of delegates, he will cut a deal with Kasich, Rubio... or Cruz.

One of the three will agree to release their delegates on the first ballot in exchange for the VP spot.

Nobody can stop it. Kasich and Rubio have reached a dead end in their political careers and will take the deal in a second. They probably dream about it every night.

Yep. Cruz is dead. He cannot win a first ballot victory.

If the base wants to avoid a huge fight and the possible destruction of their party, they will simply take it out of the hands of the establishment and get behind Trump.

Having enough to unquestionably WIN on the first ballot is the only way to stop Cruz.

(Fixed that for you.)

Trump can win with 1,100 delegates”
Obviously.
Cruz is wasting everyone’s time.
He should drop out now and get a real job.

LOL. Not an RNC member. RNC contracted the moron delegate and set him straight. I guess you have figured that out by now.

It’s for Trump’s attorneys to find grounds for the suit.

But my thoughts are that he entered the race under a set of rules (i.e., a contract). If the rules are changed after him entering, then to me, he can try to recover the money he’s spent on the campaign.

I know that rules changes are permitted...so I’m not saying that he has a case...I’m just saying it might get costly for the delegates to have to fight him in court.

That would make sense if Trump was efficiently rounding up delegates in those states who are supporters of his.

Unfortunately for Trump, that’s exactly what Cruz has been doing.

I read that there’s 28 state conventions picking delegates this weekend alone (a number so high I question it, by the way.) I’m sure Trump has his very best people working every one of them. Just ask him.

Trump will easily surpass 1100 delegates. He should have well over a 1000 by April 26th.

Very good! Trump keeps on complaining about the process that favors the frontrunner and has given him 46% or so of the delegates with 37% of the vote-no sore loser whining about that. He gets out of sorts when his lack of preparation is exposed for all to see.

OK see here is my problem.

First I voted for Trump in Ohio however Cruz was my first choice until he started in with things that made me cringe and the final straw being siding with the Liberal mods that disrupted the Chicago Trump rally.

I've read that 1237 is the magic number and as we go along Trump keeps winning most of the Primaries and such and is the lead and then the "Oh but he has not secured the delegates B.S." and Cruz starts getting Delegates assigned to him that apparently were never won by Trump because "The Rules"...

Then the Colorado B.S. about Voters are not needed but Trump delegates are decertified and on and on...

Now the Magic number is 1100 apparently...

So now I've followed elections since I was in Grade School when Nixon Ran against Humphrey I never remember Delegates getting decertified and voters not needed and on and on until very recently and that was the Democrats taking Delegates away from Hillary and assigning them to Obummer.

So after stepping back and looking at all this I wonder if anyone else gets the same feeling that we the voters (No matter who you back) are getting Royally F***ed and have been for years and all this back room dealing BS is just coming to light. And the reason it is coming to light now is because these last few years the grass roots Tea Party movement has upset the apple cart and threatened the control the party hacks have over the system. So now they have to somewhat operate in the open and need to contrive all sorts of "Rules" scenarios to keep the situation muddy and unclear so as to try and eek out a win to keep control.

All I know is my goal from this point forward is to destroy the Republican Party once and for all, no matter who wins.

>>Well Drudge has his panties all in a bunch over this statement...<<

There’s approximately 10 headlines on Drudge right now that are either anti-Cruz or pro-Trump, for those of you who didn’t realize that Drudge was totally in the tank for Trump until Cruz informed you of that fact the other day.

And as long as Charles Hurt is a senior Drudge Report editor, that will undoubtedly continue.

When that happens, you’ll start to get a taste of just how big the ABT vote is, won’t you.

-- That would make sense if Trump was efficiently rounding up delegates in those states who are supporters of his. --

My point was more to the inclusion of unbound delegates, so that the 1100 number wasn't taken as the new "win the nomination" threshold.

Both frontrunners have an uphill battle to 1237. it will be more difficult for Cruz to get there, than for Trump.

-- I read that there's 28 state conventions picking delegates this weekend alone (a number so high I question it, by the way.) I'm sure Trump has his very best people working every one of them. Just ask him. --

Given the way the primary races have been running, I'm sure there are Trump supporters in all of those states, and among the delegates too. Neither front runner has to have "the best, " just "good enough." The contest is on.

Until the Trumpster reaches 1237, it's game on, whether you like it or not.

If there is a contested convention, Trump will go in with the most delegates, the most states won, and the most votes received--by far. The "game" will be over for the GOP if they select someone else.

Trump is the reason that primary turnout records have been set. He is the person responsible for the huge debate ratings. He is the one setting the agenda for the campaign season, e.g. immigration, trade, treatment of the veterans, etc. If anyone thinks that the Trump voters, the most committed, enthusiastic, and loyal will accept someone else getting the nomination, they are delusional. It will be game, set, and match for the GOP in November if they select someone else.

Neither will be POTUS.

Neither will be the nominee. The GOP doesn’t want either of them in charge.

And Ryan coming out saying he doesn’t want it makes me think he WILL be the nominee.

The only ones opposing Trump are the ones who aren’t already mind-altered Trumpbots. Go find another 100 delegates he hasn’t already pissed off with his antics. That’s what you’re up against.
