My oldest daughter is 32 and special needs. She is our perpetual child. She still wonders how Santa gets in the house. My youngest daughter is pregnant with her second child. Just yesterday she had a ultrasound and they told her it’s a girl that looks normal in every way except there was a shiny spot on her heart in the ultrasound. They told her she has a 1% chance the baby will have Downs Syndrome. We talked for a while yesterday. I asked her what her options were. She said “WE will never even consider a abortion!” I told that she must play the hand God deals her and we will be there helping her all the way. I did some on-line research about the Shiny spot on the heart and there are a lot of theories and nothing concrete. The more I read about it the more I was convinced its a ploy to get the mother thinking about abortion.

I belong to a sizable parish and I see parents with children who have special needs. We have at least four Down Syndrome babies and children, and at least five children who are what people used to call retarded. We even have a pair of 85 year old twins who walk to church every Sunday. One is all right mentally but his brother is somewhat "forgetful" and when he enters the pew, just before he sits down, he twirls around twice.

Who are we to deny all these people their chance at life and making others smile?

That's true. Liberals contradict themselves. They will also complain about "ableism" -- society's premium on physical capabilities.

What these kind of women are essentially saying is this: "We want to do whatever we damn well please. And society has to go along with it."

These folks (unless they repent in Jesus Holy Name) will end up spiritually dead forever floating in a lake of fire. The babies they cause to be killed in womb will live forever in heaven with Jesus. Anybody who would premeditatedly murder their child is totally unfit to be the child’s parent and it is probable that the child is better off dead then with a parent who would murder them. A parent who would purposefully murder their own child would likely raise it to populate hell as they themselves will.
