We lost our son today (vanity - prayer request)
FreeRepublic ^ | 4/12/2016 | self

Posted on 04/12/2016 12:07:42 AM PDT by Marie

Today, we found out that we've lost our 22 year old son.

He'd been missing for a couple of days and they found the body this evening. He wrecked his motorcycle and ended up in a ditch where nobody could see.

I don't know how to do this. I don't know how to accept this. I don't know what to do with this.

And I can't pray.

I'm not mad at G-d or anything like that. I mean that I have no words. I don't know how.

Can you please pray for me? Just add me to your prayer list for a little while?

I cannot grasp that this loving young man is gone from my life forever. I don't know how to be all right with that.

I know that I need to sleep, but that seems like such a strange thing to do. I don't know how to function. What's normal when he's not on this planet?

Dear Lord, I miss him so much already.

Glorified and sanctified be God’s great name throughout the world which He has created according to His will.

May He establish His kingdom in your lifetime and during your days, and within the life of the entire House of Israel, speedily and soon; and say, Amen.

May His great name be blessed forever and to all eternity.

Blessed and praised, glorified and exalted, extolled and honored, adored and lauded be the name of the Holy One, blessed be He, beyond all the blessings and hymns, praises and consolations that are ever spoken in the world; and say, Amen.

May there be abundant peace from heaven, and life, for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

He who creates peace in His celestial heights, may He create peace for us and for all Israel; and say, Amen.

Dear sister, my heart pains for your loss. I pray for our Lord to make you strong so that you can through the day’s weeks, Months, and years that the loss of your beloved son will be weighing heavy upon your heart.

Words cannot ever console you in a way to alleviate your pain and sorrow, but God’s healing touch and embrace will carry you through the difficult times you face.

You say you are unable to pray, but in reality you did ask the Saints to do so, and that is what God wants us to do. He speaks to you through your pain, and He hears our prayers for you and will be there for you to carry on.

I lost a son many years ago, and I cannot lie, to this day I miss him, but I also know He is in good hands with our Lord. For now and always, dwell on the good things about him, and remember that one day you will be together and all the pain and sorrow will be forever forgotten.

Lord, my Father, I pray for You to embrace my sister and give her the strength she needs to continue in her time of pain and sorrow. You know all Lord, and You are all loving, so in this time bless and be with our dear sister.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

God bless you sister,

Chuck

I lost my son years ago - motorcycle accident. In his case there was someone there to comfort him. Unfortunately, it was on Okinawa (he was a Marine) and there was no trauma unit on the island that could have saved him.

It gets a little easily to think about over time, but one ends up feeling emotionally like damaged goods.

I’ve very sorry for your loss.

Dear Marie...

My heart breaks for you, I know mere words cannot adequately give you comfort during this time... but take heart.. the Lord hears the cries of His children and is faithful and just... in His promises.... so He hears, He understands... He knows what it is like to lose a child....

He says we never walk this walk alone... hold onto that promise... He says He goes with us, loves us and will provide strength, comfort and relief... so call on it... He will provide...

Reach out... do not be isolated... let fellow believers carry you with thoughts, words and deeds... Rest... and know you are carried in prayer.

If you cannot speak the words in prayer yourself.... let the Holy Spirit groan for you.... He will... He knows your heart and will speak to the Father for you....

Know that you are loved... so loved that God sacrificed all to reconcile you to Him... and know that He will neither leave you, nor forsake you.... you are His.

Peace, comfort and strength... Tom

Marie, there really are no words, either to or from you, at a time like this. We will certainly pray for you and the soul of your son. I will pray that you receive the Lord’s comfort to get through this painful time. God bless.

Father God,
You Who created this world and all that is in it,
You Who created Marie’s dear son and every fiber of his being,
You have called us to intercede for one another when there are no words.
Father, it is so hard to praise Your Name when disaster strikes; yet, we praise Your loving arms to receive this young man.
We praise Your faithfulness even when we are prostrate with grief: You promised You would never leave us.
Father, in Your mercy, never leave Marie, gracious Lord.
Enfold Marie and all who love her and love the memory of her son with Your profound mysterious love.
Protect Marie as she thrashes with grief.
Provide divine inspiration and assurance that her dear son is dear to You,
and that the death of Your Son on the cross is the way of peace and wholeness for her and for her survival in this life, and her eternal rest in the world to come.
Surround Marie with loving Christians who bring solace and practical help in the days ahead.
Bring pastoral care not just now, but for all the years of her life.
Feed her, Your beloved child, with Your Word and the psalms of the prophets to join her to the faithful and to the wisdom of the ages found in You.
Help those of us who intercede for our beloved freeper family remember Marie in our prayers in the weeks and months ahead.
May her surrender to Your precious gift of Salvation be complete.
May she depend on You for meaning and sustenance.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen.

Then my grandaughter did something that made me laugh uncontrollably. At that point I knew I was on the road to healing.

Good to hear that, P-Marlow. You remain in my thoughts and prayers.
