Cruz belittles Trump's response to delegate defeats
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/11/16 | Ryan Lovelace

Posted on 04/11/2016 2:42:38 PM PDT by markomalley

Ted Cruz mocked Donald Trump for "a lot of whining" and "cursing" over losing delegates to the Texas senator on the campaign trail.

Cruz told a California crowd he won "11 elections" in the past three weeks and said Trump has been beside himself ever since. The senator picked up scores of delegates in Colorado this weekend, which prompted Trump to deliver an indignant response on Twitter questioning the nominating process of the Centennial State.

"Now in response, Donald has been yelling and screaming, a lot of whining, I'm sure some cursing, and some late-night fever-tweeting. All the characteristics, I would note, we would want of a commander in chief," Cruz said on the trail in California. "And the latest thing he's seized upon is when people vote against him, they're stealing the election. It's a really odd notion. 'Well what is this democracy of which you speak? Wait, wait you mean voters get to vote? No, no, no. No, no, no.'"

Cruz went on to tout the importance of the upcoming Golden State nominating contest, and said it would determine the outcome of the entire GOP primary.

"I'm going to say a sentence that has not been said in 50 years. California is going to decide the Republican nomination for the presidency," Cruz said.

The California primary's 172 delegates will be up for grabs on June 7. Cruz is campaigning in the Golden State this week, and is making stops in Irvine and San Diego on Monday.

And this kind of schoolboy taunting is EXACTLY the reason why I can't support Cruz. Rather than having a mature, Presidential response to the whining from the Trump campaign, he is just encouraging more and more.

Cruz is good at the Alinsky retorts. I noticed it a long time ago and was equally disturbed by it. But Cruzers have been listening to it non-stop and have even assimilated it into their souls.

I have a very simple question; How many votes did Kasich and Trump get in Colorado?

Anyone know?

Both camps here on FR infuriate me. (Thus I figure the only appropriate result is to contribute a healthy dose of snark in both directions)

Yeah. Amazing all the smart people here that don’t get it. The big picture problem is not rocket science to anyone who is not stuck staring at one tree so long they get so cross-eyed they think the fuzzy thing they see is the whole forest.

What happened In Colorado is indefensible on any coherent, rational, ethical, or moral ground. Everyone know this. THAT is the big picture, that is the forest - and exactly why Trump is so much more popular than any other candidate. THAT is why there is a movement like we have never before seen in American politics. Trump is blowing up the status-quo Americans have HATED for so long. And Colorado gave him more ammunition in that fight for freedom from establishment elitists cramming what they want down our throats.

“Cruz told the Colorado crowd earlier that it’s easy to talk about making America great again — “you can even print that on a baseball cap” — but that the more important question is which candidate understands “the principles and values that made America great in the first place.”

Does that mean getting in bed with and wildly fornicating and fluffing every establishment elitist he can get close to?

Wow he makes me sick. To think I bought his book “A Time For Truth”. I actually believed he was “the only principled candidate in the race”. He proved how stupid I was to believe him. Six months ago no one would have believed Cruz would be where he is right now - in bed with the GOP elite.

I’ll still vote for him if he is the nominee but I’d like a refund on the book.

So even if Cruz loses the primary if the GOPe can steal the delegates anyhow Cruz thinks it’s fine regardless how the vote went

And if Trump complains that the GOPeCruz are stealing his delegate wins then Trump is a whiner

Ok, Kasich and Trump got zero votes in Colorado. How many votes did Cruz get in Colorado?

Do you know?

LOL. Doubling down on stupid. Silly Cruz, they’re not elections when you steal the votes. Trump ads in CA will write themselves.

I’ve never seen such a arrogant and tone deaf candidate.

According to Trump delegates who called into Rush and Laura today they were not told who they delegates they voted for were going to be bound to

It was a farce

The GOP and Cruz (the same turd pile now) were well represented

Trump knew the rules in Colorado. He’s picking his battles. It’s stupid to deliberately fight a fight you cannot win. So he did a flanking maneuver. Now he’s using the cologop’s corruption against them.

Not rocket science.

Note how it’s going for the cologop. They are getting Trumped! And he’s using the nuclear bomb they gave him to do it. LOLOL!!!!

Ted Cruz mocked Donald Trump for "a lot of whining" and "cursing" over losing delegates to the Texas senator on the campaign trail.

Is Cruz also directing his contempt to the 1,000,000 Colorado voters who were disenfranchised? Are they whining and cursing, too?

Ignoring the wishes of the voters seems to me to be corrupt. Would it not have been better to let the people vote, and legitimately then taking the lion's share instead of taking it all and displaying a lack of integrity?

Would not a real leader reject a corrupt process and insist on supporting the voters? Is Cruz really presidential material? What is the difference between Democrats and Republicans in this situation?
