Cruz belittles Trump's response to delegate defeats
Washington Examiner ^ | 4/11/16 | Ryan Lovelace

Posted on 04/11/2016 2:42:38 PM PDT by markomalley

Ted Cruz mocked Donald Trump for "a lot of whining" and "cursing" over losing delegates to the Texas senator on the campaign trail.

Cruz told a California crowd he won "11 elections" in the past three weeks and said Trump has been beside himself ever since. The senator picked up scores of delegates in Colorado this weekend, which prompted Trump to deliver an indignant response on Twitter questioning the nominating process of the Centennial State.

"Now in response, Donald has been yelling and screaming, a lot of whining, I'm sure some cursing, and some late-night fever-tweeting. All the characteristics, I would note, we would want of a commander in chief," Cruz said on the trail in California. "And the latest thing he's seized upon is when people vote against him, they're stealing the election. It's a really odd notion. 'Well what is this democracy of which you speak? Wait, wait you mean voters get to vote? No, no, no. No, no, no.'"

Cruz went on to tout the importance of the upcoming Golden State nominating contest, and said it would determine the outcome of the entire GOP primary.

"I'm going to say a sentence that has not been said in 50 years. California is going to decide the Republican nomination for the presidency," Cruz said.

The California primary's 172 delegates will be up for grabs on June 7. Cruz is campaigning in the Golden State this week, and is making stops in Irvine and San Diego on Monday.

Just to reiterate, was it a good campaign move...

To FIRE THE COLORADO STATE DIRECTOR for the Trump campaign right before the state convention?

http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/08/politics/republican-colorado-michigan-convention/

It kind of puts the Trump “WHINING” to a whole new level.

He is a crappy manager. Maybe he wouldn’t be a billionaire today if he had not been buying the politicians to make a more “Trump Friendly” playing field.

I was sending $50 a month to cruz for the last year. I stopped my contribution after deciding Trump was the only one who could defeat the socialist machine. I have gone from supporting cruz to ambivalence to cruz to loathing cruz. He has shown himself and Colorado was my moment of clarity. I’m going to have a really hard time pulling the lever for him if he is the candidate. Starting to think the unthinkable. It’s time for a third party that values my vote and $.

I think that because I listen to what Trump says. Has nothing to do with Cruz.

"There have been at least a dozen Cruz supporters who today told me they were switching to Trump. That is the “Colorado effect”. It isn’t going to be pretty."

And this is supposed to prove what? Anecdotal evidence that your friends are stupid too won't persuade me of anything.

Come back to me if Trump wins Nebraska, South Dakota or Montana. I still see ZERO evidence that Trump can win enough delegates to take this thing before the convention. And if Trump doesn't win first ballot, he's done.

As for it not being pretty, nothing with Trump is pretty. Honestly, at this point I don't even care much who wins. I was pulling for Cruz, but at this point, Trump has harmed him so much Cruz can't win in November, and Trump has harmed himself so much Trump can't win in November.

When the race started, I preferred Trump over Cruz. Then I saw how stupid Trump was at running a campaign and how poor his judgment was and how his supporters are motivated by emotion instead of reason and how Trump has no guiding principles and how he was determined to guarantee the Democrats win the election in November. Now I blame Trump for what will almost certainly be the Dems winning ALL 3 BRANCHES of government.

Ted is even more of revolting GOPe hack than Romney is and was.
I bet Ted is relishing the fact he is about to finish 3rd in Pennsylvania yet win the majority of delegates, which are unbound, through nefarious means. Screw the voters when you have the Republican establishment on your side!

This is why I think Trump should go around Cruz, get rid of rule 40 and dare the GOPe to nominate Ryan. Cruz’s GOPe support evaporates at that point. Poof. At that point Cruz’s “Courageous Conservatives” have a choice: Trump or GOPe. Cruz’s “conservative” brand is ruined if they pick GOPe. Check mate Donald J. Trump.

Liar. Trump is issue based. Always has been. Immigration and unfair trade. Suggesting Trumpers are emotion based is a typical Cruzer talking point. You outed yourself.

The emotional ones are the Cruzers with loving eyes who can’t see their boy in bed with the GOPe.

Immigration is the only thing I actually LIKE about Trump.

On nearly every other issue, his answer is that he is brilliant and listens to and hires the best people. When someone with reason points out that his failures in Colorado and other places put the lie to these assertions, Trump supporters don't even address this, they just call names and parrot Trump talking points.

I've TRIED to get into a rational discussion with Trump supporters, but I can't find any rational Trump supporters to discuss with. They all just call me names.

Did you like Trump’s position on immigration in 2012 though?

You can think that. If Trump really wants to win, he’s going to need the Republican Party. The Trump faction is not be itself able to carry the day.

I don’t think Trump uses lies..I know he does. Trump says he uses lies in his book. He gets people to believe their fantasies. Do you not believe him?

When he is mathematically eliminated Cruz will have no reason to stay in the race but being Romney’s errand boy.

I’m the exact same with Cruz.

All of these politicians from both parties over the past 25 years have put this country $20 Trillion in debt and growing, and nothing changes if nothing changes.

Time for something new.

Class A panderer - insufferable know it all type that turns people off - too bad he’s not brilliant enough to know he’s being used...but then again, he probably has alot to gain by playing along with the Bush/Reince/Ryan game.

Get absorbed into the system, and claim you alone can change it...hilarious!

I figure the worst case scenario is Cruz’s wife gets raised from 800,000 yr to 3 million a year, and Ted gets paid off with a balloon payment down the road : )
