By the way delegates get selected in most states by state delegations. By mastering that process you get to be the winner on the second or third ballot like Cruz is going to be.
Cruz is willing lamb being led to slaughter. He knows he'd have no chance if the GOPe helps him undermine the will of the voters and wins the nomination. But, he doesn;t care because he knows there will be a big payoff coming from the establishment.
If the GOPe can't get one of their own in office, Hillary is their preferred choice. All the better for them if Cruz is beaten in an landslide and conservatism gets the blame.
