COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -
The Colorado GOP said it is investigating after a tweet was sent out from its account with the message: "We did it. #NeverTrump."
Colorado GOP Chairman Steve House told Denver's KMGH that his organization "would never do that." Now, the Colorado GOP is investigating to try and figure out what unauthorized person sent it out from the organization's Twitter account.
The tweet popped up on Twitter minutes after Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz scored all of Colorado's delegates.
Are you serious? Who’s game do you think that we’re all playing. It’s the Republican’s game, it’s their rules that they can change at any time. The CO delegates and Cruz are playing the game. Trump is just whining because he has an idealized view of what should be rather than reading the actual rule book.
“Cruz told the Colorado crowd earlier that its easy to talk about making America great again you can even print that on a baseball cap but that the more important question is which candidate understands the principles and values that made America great in the first place.
Does that mean getting in bed with and wildly fornicating and fluffing every establishment elitist he can get close to?
Wow he makes me sick. To think I bought his book A Time For Truth. I actually believed he was the only principled candidate in the race. He proved how stupid I was to believe him. Six months ago no one would have believed Cruz would be where he is right now - in bed with the GOP elite.
Ill still vote for him if he is the nominee but Id like a refund on the book.
I hope that Cruz suffers mightily in Hell.
"Cruz is now fully exposed as an Establishment Insider. He is not the SOLUTION, he is the PROBLEM Trump is trying to solve!"— Bill Mitchell (@mitchellvii) April 9, 2016
I know little about politics. How are the delegates in CO chosen?
And if Jeb Bush was still in the race, your guy would have no Colorado delegates either. Yes, the delegates in a state should represent the voters and not because they are being used as a pawn. People are sick of this type of stuff from the Republican party.
The players are the game.
The Republican party picked the delegates. They didnt have a primary or a caucus.
NeverTrump is going to become NeverGOP
How insane a system, that people run for office for months (years) only to get to national convention where they can change the rules of what counts, who is qualified by the “rules” or not?
And these state rule changes of voting and delegate choosing are just as insane.
And candidates are just supposed to play along?
How did we ever get so greedy and power hungry as a country?
Really eye opening who’s in it to play games and win a prize and who are sincere about wanting to do best for the people of USofA.
. Trump is just whining because he has an idealized view of what should be rather than reading the actual rule book.
Wow. Most of us know right from wrong. We don’t need to put in a rule book something so obvious. What a disgrace Cruz has turned out to be.
‘Colorado GOP Chairman Steve House told Denver’s KMGH that his organization “would never do that.”’
Yeah, right. The CO Republican machinery has a real credibility problem, from now until forever.
“How is it possible that the people of the great State of Colorado never got to vote in the Republican Primary? Great anger - totally unfair!” said Trump on twitter.
Well Donald, this has been explained to you many times.
Long before you came along, the Nat’l GOP said that Caucus Straw polls would be binding.
In past elections, Colorado had straw poll winners who had dropped out prior to the convention, leaving us with NO voice.
So, Colorado State GOP decided to remain a factor in the convention, we would not have a straw poll.
At this point, both the Colorado GOP and Dem chairs have agreed that we will return to Presidential Primaries in the future.
I've been campaigning against Colorado's unrepresentative system for several years; and much of the opposition I've run into, that is trying to preserve the system that is now exposed in the headlines, is from rank-and-file party members. Each delegate selected in a caucus represents roughly 100 members of the public. Many people have figured out that if they are willing to spend a Saturday of boredom at a county assembly, they can wield two orders of magnitude more power than their neighbors. This power is concentrated even further in the even smaller number of people who are willing to drive across the state to attend the state convention.
Platform resolution votes in previous election cycles indicate that these latter people (the state attendees) are a nut that needs to be cracked if the system is to be changed from within. Meanwhile an article in the Denver Post (which I can't link to for copyright reasons) indicates that legislation and ballot initiatives are in the works to fix the system from the outside and get around these people. (Search on "Colorado considering change to presidential primary after 2016 caucus uproar" or "Party leaders united behind legislation this session, as ballot initiative looms".)
Yes. Amazing how so called self professed conservatives bong the elite establishment kool-aid. Probably take it as an enema too. Drunk on it for sure.
I agree with Jim;

You’re not alone, if they steal it from Trump then I go with him to 3rd party or simply write him in. All other races I’ll simply ignore in protest of Ted Cruz and GOPe BS.
