Donald Trump Loses Weekend Delegate Fight in Five States
Time Mag. ^ | Apr. 10, 2016 | Zeke J Miller

Donald Trump’s effort to reset his campaign following defeat in Wisconsin showed no signs of paying off this weekend, as a series of technical failures by his campaign set his hopes back even further.

From Thursday to Saturday, Trump suffered setbacks in Colorado, Iowa, Michigan, South Carolina and Indiana that raise new doubts about his campaign’s preparedness for the long slog of delegate hunting as the GOP race approaches a possible contested convention. He lost the battle on two fronts. Cruz picked up 28 pledged delegates in Colorado. In the other states, rival campaigns were able to place dozens of their own loyalists in delegate spots pledged to Trump on the first ballot. This will matter if Trump fails to win a majority of delegates on the first ballot in Cleveland, as his delegates defect once party rules allow them to choose the candidate they want to nominate.

What is really needed are the Trump supporters to come out and insult all the Cruz supporters.

Too bad. They need to get their act together fast. Of course the best would be to get the magic number of 1237 going into the convention, then there won’t have to be a second ballot.

Doesn’t matter, no chance GoPe turns away majority of its base, they know if Trump is booted by delegate count voters will boot them right out of house and senate. Don’t believe all this drama(propaganda) thrown our way, Trump will be the nominee, GoPe just wants some leverage in picking VP and attaching some strings to Trump.

Not when he only has 37% of the votes and is the first Repub to not wrap up the nomination by this time since Ford in 1976.

Won’t flame that idea.

It’s an excellent idea.

However, it would appear that the two despise one another, so it’s not very likely to happen.

vote for Hillary

I won't need to. Hillary's operatives and Obama's judges will destroy Cruz over his eligibility.

Still, more support than number two.

I’m as big a Trump fan as you can get, and this worries me. He just doesn’t seem to be taking the whole “I’m running for President” thing seriously.

Kind of throws cold water on the idea that he "hires the best people," doesn't it?

Mark your comment and review it after Cruz is the nominee. The ONLY way he’s not the nominee is if Trump tells his delegates to change rule 40 to allow GOPe to have their nominee. Cruz will be wanting to keep existing rule 40. Trump should as well. in fact the two of them should strengthen rule 40. The one who doesn’t keep rule 40 is the real GOPe plant.

The GOPe’s new motto there:

VOTERS NOT NEEDED!

The government shouldn’t be doing anything much that requires spending at all. We don’t need it run better, we need its duties taken away and turned back to the states or the people.

Hillary's operatives and Obama's judges will destroy Cruz over his eligibility. You mean like how the PA supreme court did? Oh wait they ruled he is NBC. So I guess you're wrong.

Ok so you’re good with the GOPe. I’ll vote for either Trump or Cruz but no one else. So you’re the one really voting for Hillary.

Both Trump and Cruz have signaled many times they could agree to Cruz being V.P.

But the way things are headed, it’s more likely Trump takes Kasich as V.P. who will probably have enough delegates to get Trump over the top. Kasich is more in line with Trump’s liberal New York values also.

If the nominee is someone with higher negatives than Hillary then Hillary is the nominee.

McCain was the one guy who couldn’t beat Obama. Then the GOP nominates Romney the architect of Obamacare—ensuring Obama wins. If Trump gets 1237 it will prove the GOP voters only vote for people who will lose to the democrats.

I’ve seen several people zotted over saying they won’t vote for Trump if he’s the nominee. Still waiting to see anyone who says the same thing about Cruz zotted.

Yes very creepy. But Trump has some just as creepy if not more creepy moments.

I look at people’s actions not their campaigning to determine if they are good for me or not. Cruz has done what he said he would do in spite of the GOPe hating him as a senator. Trump has given cash to the most despicable people in politics—Hillary, Schumer, Pelosi, Reid. I’ll go with the one that is trying to defeat those dirtbags vice the ones giving them money to get elected.

Whatever, as long as their votes count. It’s better than the alternative of blowing them off forever.
