Under pressure from Obama educrats, public school districts are no longer suspending even violent students; but now, under pressure from Black Lives Matter, they are suspending teachers who complain about not suspending bad kids.
In St. Paul, Minn., a high school teacher was put on administrative leave last month after Black Lives Matter threatened to shut down the school because the teacher complained about lenient discipline policies that have led to a string of assaults on fellow teachers.
Last month, two students at Como Park Senior High School punched and body slammed a business teacher unconscious, opening a head wound that required staples. And earlier in the year, another student choked a science teacher into a partial coma that left him hospitalized for several days.
In both cases, the teachers were white and the students black.
Theo Olson, a teacher at the school complained on Facebook about new district policies that fail to punish kids for fighting and drug-dealing. Like dozens of cities across the country — including New York — St. Paul adopted the policies in compliance with new discipline guidelines issued by the Obama administration. The Education Department has threatened school districts with lawsuits and funding cuts wherever if finds racial “disparities” in suspensions and expulsions, arguing such disparities have created a “school-to-prison pipeline” for African-Americans children. The agency claims such disparities are the product of racism in schools.

I don’t expect much from public edyookashun but at the very least they should glance at a calendar. The Obama nightmare effectively ends Nov 8 which means these nihilistic dictates should be roundly ignored.
Yes, Obama will pardon legions of criminals leading up to Jan 2017 but every president’s dream of a permanent post-term power base is inevitably thwarted by time and the natural inclination of the press and the people to focus on the current office holder.
These “kids” who assault teachers need to be in prison.
They’re not schools, they’re government-run daytime detention centers that are designed to concentrate criminal behavior and minimize daytime home invasions, drug dealing and street killings. The only solution is to home school.
If you don’t want education to take a back seat to politics, don’t put government in charge of schools.
Whom does the teachers’ union support? - Liberals. Now it’s come full circle, the liberals are going after the teachers.
What about “safe spaces” and “microagressions” ? Doesn’t apply in this case?
Several words, though over use and improper use, have lost all meaning. Among them are unexpected, organic, historic, sustainable, and racist.
Incidentally, at Walmart I saw a bag of mulch labeled, “100% Natural, Organic Mulch.” It was a bag of wood chips. I’m not sure what 100% synthetic, inorganic mulch would be made from.

Most people don’t know the origin of the word organic. When chemistry was just getting going as a science, before cell theory, people believed that life could spontaneously generate. Two things seemed probable; that this mysterious life force existed in some substances and not others and that it could be forced to manifest by a jolt of electricity; a notion Marry Shelly exploited in her novel, “Frankenstein.” This mysterious agent was called élan vital. Substances thought to contain it were classified as organic. Substances thought not to contain it were classified as inorganic.
The word organic, like the notion behind it, is meaningless. But the idea that organic is associated with life lives on. It is magic when selling stuff. Another meaningless word is genuine. This word inflation leads to such idiocy as this, which I saw on a product card, “Genuine plastic, so don’t accept imitation.”
I did not know that was the origin of “organic.” Now if “officially” means “carbon/hydrogen based,” as in “organic chemistry.” I suppose the synthetic rubber in the recycled mulch could be organic, too ...

It's certainly not the only solution. Many parents are totally unequipped or unable to home school their children.
The solution is to set disciplinary standards in schools or segregate schools again. First, all liberals i.e. educrats in charge of education should be ousted. Then strict standards set and followed. Easier said than done, but doable.
The teachers made their deal with the Devil by supporting the welfare state (which produces more “clients” in return for a life of leisure); I could care less when those clients start physically assaulting those teachers.
Many of these schools haven’t had “American” students in years...
We need to re-segregate the schools. It just isn’t working out.
