Could Powerful GOP Oligarchs Bribe Trump's Delegates in Order to Stop Trump?

Posted on 04/09/2016 8:18:36 AM PDT by pinochet

I first want to make it very clear, that I admire rich people, and do not believe in class warfare. But I distinguish between two types of rich people. The first is those who made it on their own, without bribing (through lobbyists, etc) to get inflated government contracts. The second is those who got rich through family connections and inflated government contracts (remember those DoD toilet seats worth $400). I admire the former, because they keep the American economy going. I do not admire the latter, because they steal the wealth of the middle-class.

Oligarchs are those rich people involved in politics in order to get an unfair advantage in government contracts. Oligarchs have more influence in the Democratic Party than they have among the Republican Party. The Democrat big government philosophy is not to help the poor, but to ensure that there is more money for Democrat Oligarchs to steal. The Republican small government philosophy means that there is less money for Republican Oligarchs to steal.

There are two categories of Oligarchs. National-level oligarchs and state-level oligarchs. The national level oligarchs are billionaires who benefit from federal contracts. The state-level oligarchs have fortunes of $100-$500 million, and benefit from state and city government contracts. If a large percentage of these oligarchs and their friends co-ordinate their efforts, they could drown the Trump campaign in a sea of money. Trump may be a rich man. But he is fighting against a broad coalition of several billionaires and multi-millionaires.

Comedian, Bill Maher, has a fortune of $23 million, but he was able to give a $1 million donation to the Democrats. Republican Oligarchs can easily assemble 10,000 tycoons who could give $1 million each, and drown Donald Trump in a $10 billion ocean of money. Some Trump delegates could be offered an opportunity to win a once in a life time lottery by these oligarchs. Is the scenario I describe above plausible?

Toilet seats cost so much because of change orders and equal opportunity paperwork.

The RNC/GOP may find they have sparked a new phenomenon if they pull something funny to deny Trump the nomination:

Kamikaze Voter

Every Democrat in every election for every office until there is no more GOP.

Then the citizens might get some representation.

Currently the RNC/GOP only exists to block the citizens from stopping The Cheap Labor Express

Why bribe when you can simply threaten...much cheaper.

Talk about tin-foil hat level speculation.

If money could buy elections and delegates Jeb Bush would already be the nominee.

Trump is fading, so the faithful are preparing their backup stories about the Dark Forces arrayed against Donnie the Pure.

Kamiakaze Voter

It won't even have to be a movement. If the elitist backstabbers steal the nomination, we don't have two parties anymore. It would be better to let the Republican Party die, and let an opposition movement emerge from the Democratic Party. The only other option would be for someone denied the nomination to run as the candidate with an established 50-state third party, choosing an impressive running mate. Campaign donations won't be an issue; the difficulty would be in keeping up with how much money comes in.

I hope it doesn't come to either of these scenerios, that saner folks prevail, and the Republican leadership cleans up its act before the convention. That would have to include a delegate process that denies seating anyone whose claims to representing the voters is questionable.

Hi Louiswu,

Hmmmm. You mean like disclosing delegate names, locations in Cleveland, and room numbers? Hmmmm.

I have already got to the point that it is Trump or nothing. I will write in Trump’s name if it comes to that.

The people who are claiming to be the saner folks are leading the #NeverTrump, #StopTrump, #DumpTrump efforts.

They are absolutely determined that the laws will not be enforced and illegal aliens will be allowed to stay.

Our country is being stolen from us.

Lie! Trump got a measly million and made it into 10 billion. When you inherited a thousand dollars, were you able to make it into a million dollars? No? Why not?????

Trump fading just in time for New York and the northeast. Of course the poor guys been fading since January. Cruz’s momentum trickles to nothing every time. You know why Cruz lost this primary season? March 15th! The day the music died for Cruz regardless of if he knows it or not.

Jealous? To bad you are not bright enough to take a loan from your father and turn it into 10 billion.

Says a lot about you.
