"That will mean Cruz lost seven primaries after Wisconsin. " UH, I think you are forgetting the 55 delegates of Colorado and Wyoming Stage 3. These are not winner-take-all, but all will be taken nonetheless ---by Cruz. Colorado this week, Wyoming next. Cruz already took 6 in Colorado, will get 3 more tomorrow, 12 more Friday and 16 more on Saturday. Trump: 0,0,0 and 0 again. so before NY, you will have 4 Cruz wins in a row, North Dakota, WS, CO and WY.

Well, over the years I’ve seen more than one FReeper admit to being atheist or agnostic. You haven’t?

"Trump will have 500-600 more delegates than Cruz" No he won't, oh my gosh. You are dreaming. But we will see.

Typical Cruz supporter. You lost the argument so resort to pathetic childish insults.
Your establishment candidate should know that his party leader said the number could be changed at will. The GOPe will stop at nothing to get the candidate they can control.

Can't say that I have. But I have seen FReepers occasionally post articles from know-nothing atheistic liberals that masquerade as conservatives.
Oh wait, that was you tonight.

Trump has never, never been able to beat Cruz in a 2 man race. Trump was able to get a lead only when the field was crowded.

I know, the media is making this huge deal out of a 30 pt net gain for Cruz. They talk about how Cruz trounced Trump but it was 12 points. Trump beat Cruz by 30 points in Florida.
The numbers tell a far grimmer story for King Cruz in Wisconsin.
Exit polls established that more voters would support Trump in the general election than they would Cruz.
When half the state hates you, that translates into Wisconsin in the 'RAT column come the Fall.

Sorry CottonBall, Reince Priebus said the rules committee could change the rule about potential nominees had to have the majority of delegates in EIGHT states to be considered for nomination.
Nobody, with the exception of some deranged Trumpsters, wants to change the requirement for the nominee to be elected with a simple majority.

"1237 is an arbitrary number." Donald is probably not confused about the definition of "majority," but he 's hoping his supporters are.
IN 160 years, it's always been a majority, but now, for the first time in history, we have a "front-runner" who is so weak, so feeble, that he wants to change the rules to subvert the wishes of the majority. Amazing.

"Reince Priebus said the rules committee could change the rule about potential nominees had to have the majority of delegates in EIGHT states to be considered for nomination." Rules changes have to be accepted and ratified by a majority of the whole convention. The Committee can pass a rule change, force a vote, but they can't dictate the result.

It’s worth noting that the alternative to a majority has never been a plurality. Dems until the 1930s had a two-thirds rule.

Cruz has climbed into bed with the likes of Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the GOPe establishment elitists, and whether he did it with his eyes wide open, or while entertaining the delusional notion that they'll all say they "respect him in the morning", all Cruz has proven is that he was never an 'outsider', he was just as much an INSIDER as any one of those corrupt Washington pukes.

Yes, I know. Hopefully, they’ll KEEP the 8 state rule and (to help prevent shenanigans) expand it to ALL ROUNDS OF VOTING.

"1237 is an arbitrary number." No, it's the number that makes a majority vote.
"It should be the one with the most votes."
Absolutely not. Without a majority the one with the most votes is just the one with the largest minority. Minority does not rule, for good reason.
An election is supposed to be about ideas and policies, not just personalities. In a multi-candidate election you can have multiple candidates with similar politics, and they are going to split their voters between them.
If it were just the largest number then someone representing ideas accepted by a minority of the party could win the nomination. As it is, the delegates can agree to settle on a candidate who represents the views of the party and combine their vote, and not hand it to a minority.
That's why in this scenario, a political party's nomination, it's not only acceptable to run it this way, it's necessary.
