A Mormon businessman is planning to build a futuristic multi-million dollar city in the middle of rural Vermont based on 180-year-old plans drawn up by his religion's founder.

David Hall, 69, plans to construct a 20,000-home city around a monument to Joseph Smith, founder of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of The Latter Day Saints, near the town of Lebanon, central Vermont.

The layout of his proposed 5,000-acre metropolis would be based on plans Smith drew up in 1833 for the city of Zion, which he originally planned to construct in Missouri.

.
Other revolutionary ideas include foam-flushing toilets that drain into a central digester to dispose of waste, with in-built sensor to monitor waste and give people information about their health.

easy state to take over for the Mormons and is it any wonder then why the left don’t want them. SO much for diversity and tolerance.

How many females are we required to bring? Counting all my dates, maids, waitresses, ex-wives and liberal females who hate me, I’m at 1,562. Is that enough?

All those gigantic solar arrays on the rooftops of tall buildings would be better suited for somewhere a little south of Vermont.

So Joseph Smith was designing high rise glass and steel high rises in the 1830s?

“ex-wives and liberal females who hate me,”

Does that equal about 1,560?

Good! The Mormons operate just like the Muslims except that they don’t kill non-believers. They treat women as second-class people, whose only real purpose in life is to be brood mares. Trust me, as a child, I was raised a Mormon. One of my uncles had ten children (two of whom died in infancy). His eight children have had between them 42 children, and those 42 have had (at least the last time I knew) 51 children of their own, but they have plenty of time to increase that number. And all of it is predicated on increasing church membership as a goal.

Beautiful state, horrible political climate.

Especially if you have to work for a living.

I took my wife there for a week's vacation once. Really enjoyed it, but quickly learned that if we were going to buy much more than an ice cream sundae or pay admission for an attraction, it was worth our while to make the short drive over to New Hampshire.

Well with the leakage to other churches, they need the overkill I guess :-)
