>> Whether Trump knew it or not he redefined the Pro-Life discussion perfectly <<

Yes, Mr. Trump is profoundly wise, omni-prescient, utterly fantastic — so much so that he is empowered by the laws of nature to redefine the Pro-life discussion whenever he might wish to do so.

Therefore, the previous leaders of the Pro-Life movement must hasten to take notice, they must fall in line, and they must totally discard any previous notions that are contrary to Mr. Trump’s transcendent and profound wisdom.

But then, Mr. Trump is also allowed to reverse, refute or redefine his redefinition at any time — whether it be five minutes, five hours or five days later — because it’s universally acknowledged that Mr. Trump can do no wrong. And his rapid reversal in the case at hand is once more a proof of his stunning genius.

I tell you, the dazzling brilliance of Mr. Trump is overwhelming. Tears of joy are running down my face at this very minute, even as I writhe on the floor with ecstasy. Praise be!

>> Trump’s latest stance is to leave current abortion laws in place <<

Uh, no, that was number four. We’re now up to number five.

I don’t try to defend Trump’s changes in position. Some of them are old positions which he has repudiated. A charitable evaluation would be that as many of us he is capable of learning and growth. The later changes are similar to those of moderates migrating to conservatism when they discuss issues. They are new enough to the conservative cause that they don’t have canned answers to every conceivable questions. As a result there is some level of flip flopping. Canned answers are the stock and trade of career politicians - we all know that Trump is not one. Carefully worded weasel phrases are easy to mouth and aren’t particularly helpful when the speaker has no intention or ability to impact the issue he is addressing.

I support Trump, but not without reservations. We are currently offered the choice of several highly flawed candidates. The remaining three are not exactly George Washington, Ronald Reagan (actually a flip flopper) or Calvin Coolidge. Each of us evaluates the flaws of each candidates differently and then pick our poison. This time around, my first choice is not a young, politically ambitious lawyer, who has an impressive library of “weasel phrases” at his disposal to spout selectively depending on the audience. I suppose you evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates differently than I do and I respect that. Differences of opinion make the world go around.

The problem I have with Trump's changing positions on ProLife issues, is he has not really thought through these.

If you are ProLife and, without knowing who said it, you read Trumps position on Life, and also read Ted's, Marco even Mitt's, my guess is you would prefer Trumps position(s) the least.

You are a Trump supporter and you will do anything to defend his positions. That is natural most supporters of candidates do the same thing.

To me there are a few positions that are not negotiable. One being the Life issue. If Ted Cruz had went through these verbal gymnastics on abortion, I assure you, he would have already dropped out, as his support would have evaporated.

When a woman grows older and the realization becomes genuine loss and horror, she is condemned to her fate for eternity.

God takes care of it. And,as long as she is still alive, a possible change of heart and a chance to follow Jesus.

Right Cruz dodged the question and ended up in Russia like the good politician he is. There is nothing real about him.

I agree with this. I have also read there are legal reasons not to charge the woman. In our legal system a witness cannot be forced to self incriminate, therefore the woman who had the abortion could not be called to testify against the abortion doctor because it would be self incrimination. The woman is the best witness against the abortionist and if you eliminate her testimony then you will have trouble prosecuting the doctor. Before we as a society discuss punishing women for abortion we need to go back to the sexual revolution and remind women that sexual intercourse outside of marriage is bad for them in every way.

I don’t disagree. A man, convicted of murder, even if he repents and comes to Jesus, is still civilly held responsible by the government. Which, by the way, is instituted by God to administer justice.

Yes, and we have distorted values that seduces the unaware youth into their situation. Can you imagine how many women there must be who had an abortion because they thought their career came first? Later they were passed over for a promotion because the boss found a younger one.

What happens when they realize that the paper money is no good? And the list goes on.

The devil is an ass.

You are the coward I talked about. You would rather throw rocks and debate an issue you have no interest in rather than get your pearly white gloves dirty. Go vote for your empty suit and pretend you are conservative like all of the rest of the establishment.

You will never have to get your hands bloody with George T Bush III.

You would prefer tired practiced bromides like pastor Cruz spews than someone telling you what he thinks. Where is Saint Cruz on abortion and punishment for killing babies? Has he ever answered that question or any question for that matter? No, he is a good attorney and never answers anything and keeps it all nice and grey.

Just what we need, another attorney in DC.

I wouldn’t do anything to defend his positions.

If he came out and said abortion on demand is A-OK then I would drop him like a hot rock. He hasn’t changed his position on pro-life, as you say. Even if you use his past statements of being pro-choice, he says right after that he hated abortion. A common position for common people.

Like I said, he’s not polished and has all the right things to say. So what, neither do I.

I appreciate your civility as well. I agree that Trump’s statements this past week on abortion have been confusing because of the way quotes have repeatedly been taken out of context from the conversations that he was having with mostly hostile “journalists”. I admire that he is willing to engage in these conversations and try to answer as honestly as he is able to.

The intention by most has been to trip him up and damage his candidacy. To me, who actually watched some of the interviews and the “town hall” nothing he said seemed inconsistent with what he has said before. I enjoyed hearing what he was thinking, but hope that he will avoid most interviews that are really intended only to be “gotcha” sessions in the future

Yes, but the murderer doesn't murder a part of himself.

There is a strange difference here. And girls don't even have the realization until the child is actually born.

Years ago. when I was working at the state prison, we had an inmate who killed his own two year old daughter. Nobody, even the other inmates, wanted to look at this guy. I often asked myself "How can anyone live with that?"

Of course, no problem throwing the switch on that guy. Still, with a young girl, it is usually not the same thing. And, Jesus opens the way of forgiveness if she has a change of heart.

That was one position. Originally, he was for abortion, including partial-birth abortion. The other day, he said the women should be punished. Then he said no, but the doctor should be punished. Then he said the law was set and couldn’t be changed. So, what does he really believe?

He [Trump] acts like we the people are his inner-circle.

<><><><><

I’d like my president to be a tad more circumspect, I am not comforted in any way by watching Donald arrive at a position, as it is an example of Ready, Fire, Aim behavior.

If you don’t know what your position is - and clearly that was the case here on the hypothetical abortion question that created this firestorm - say nothing. Talk to your advisors (that’s the ‘aim’ mentioned above), and then take a position and stick to it.

But Donald fired before he aimed, and now has spent the better part of the week defending himself against a pure hypothetical.

It did not have to be this way? What do they say about fault in a traffic accident - the last person who could have done something to avoid it but failed to do is the one at fault.

I agree. The Lord can soften the hardest of hearts.

My statement was more secular in nature than spiritual.

Mr. Trump is malleable and can be molded by public opinion, the MSM or the polls. His core is made of putty.
