Reince Priebus Says Any Candidate That Abandons GOP Pledge Will Get No More Help From RNC

We told you recently about how Donald Trump has abandoned his pledge to the GOP that he will support the nominee no matter who it was.

He claims that the GOP wasn’t fair to him and therefore that justifies him going back on his promise.

It has already been determined that his change of heart could hurt him in the delegate race which promises to be extremely tight as it is.

But now, GOP Chair Reince Priebus has come out and basically dared Trump to back down from the promise.

From Hot Air:

I’ve got the same problem here as I did in the post yesterday about Trump possibly forfeiting his delegates in South Carolina. Namely, what would constitute formal and final repudiation of the pledge sufficient to trigger penalties? If Trump says “I’m done with the pledge” on Monday and then on Tuesday says something squishy like “I suppose I could support Ted as nominee but it’d be tough,” does that qualify as breaking the pledge? Neither he nor Cruz are going to sign something affirming that they’re going back on their word, so you’ll have to tease out their intentions from scattershot verbal statements.

“We’re going into potentially — we don’t know for sure — but potentially an open convention. So the candidates, I think, are going to posture a little bit as far as what they are willing to do and who they’re willing to support and who they’re not,” [Reince Priebus] told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren…

"Any Candidate That Abandons GOP Pledge Will Get No More Help From RNC..."

Is there anyone here at Free Republic that would give the time of day to some tool of the RNC? I'm guessing not. I doubt that anyone here wants anything to do with "loyalty oaths" either. Other than those sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States as written and commonly understood.

Wait, what help have they been giving Trump?
Picking debates with fair and balanced moderators?
Defending him against the assaults by paid agitators swarming his campaign rallies?
Giving him money and fair campaign ads ... Oh wait
Making respectful public comments about him?
Speaking up,against conservatives threatening to vote for Hillary Clinton instead of trump?
Encouraging dead end candidates to,give it up and get behind the front runner ?
I’m drawin a blank here on how they are helping him..

If they think they can weather millions of gop voters refusing to vote for an appointed canidate, they haven’t even considered what we insurgents may do at the ballot box to any gop candidate up,for election or reelection

I am pretty sure Cruz refused to say he would support Trump because he wasn't going to be the nominee. Typical weasel words from a lawyer, deny with out actually denying. Kacish said basically the same thing, after they do then they go ask trump what would they expect him to say? Exactly what he did, he was easily set up.

The Cruz people will get part of what they wanted, just not the best part.

“And the GOPe doesn’t care whether Republicans win or lose in 2016. No one has ever seen anything like this before.”

I think a lot of the GOP in Congress think Trump will lead the GOP to huge losses in 2016. Maybe, just maybe, they don’t want to lose because a very unpopular guy is heading the ticket in a year when whipping the Democrats ought to be easy.

Heavily slanted article made to fan the flames. Why should they share their data with someone who goes outside of their party? It’s not like I get to take a company’s client list if I leave to take a job selling for a competitor. I’m beginning to wonder if some of these stories and TV talk about a contested convention are just for the sake of drawing readers/viewers.

So now perhaps the GOP will come back as a real party with real ideas.

They have a plan already. Give Obama unlimited spending, Allow him to break laws, open borders, give SSN# food stamps and subsidizes housing as the illegals pour over the border. Order Border patrol to release illegals and ignore various constitutional limitations on his power all without fear of impeachment.

Now that is a heck of a plan.

“I think his chaotic mish-mash of native insanity”

You have that exactly backwards. If you are a loyal American you would want policies that strengthen America as a Nation. To infer that issues bolstering our national interest as "native insanity" as in stopping illegal immigration and ending bad trade deals, outs you as a globalist.

I happen to like the term “nation” and if nativism is promoting America's interests first, most Americans are on board with this.

Where are you?

Well it appears that all three candidates are breaking the pledge so I guess Rinse and Repeat will use that to usher in Paul Ryan or Jeb Bush.

++++

Thanks, I was wondering if anyone noticed that omission in the article.

Cruz said the same thing. Plays into Preibus’ hands as he is banking on a brokered convention and doesn’t want either one of them.
