I did my best to understand Donald Trump's foreign policy. Here's what I came up with.
Vox ^ | 3/28 | Max Fisher

Trump's foreign policy often gets discussed as isolationist for its skepticism of allies and foreign entanglements, or as realist for its obsession with self-interest and with cold cost-benefit. In either case, the theory is meant to explain why Trump so disdains virtually every facet of America's international role, from its alliance networks to its foreign military bases and security guarantees.

But the more you hear from Trump, the clearer it becomes that something else is going on: He either does not believe in or simply does not understand the international order that has governed the world since the end of World War II.

This comes through in Trump's declaration that postwar alliance systems such as NATO are "obsolete."

If it comes from "Vox" it is utter crap. You will acquire brain damage just from reading it.

These premature foregone conclusions are ultra-ridiculous and should ridiculed and ostracized to the hilt!

Considering the mess the last three administrations have caused in foreign affairs - and especially the current one - maybe, just maybe, it’s time to rethink our approach. Expanding Nato to the borders of Russia was, IMO, a mistake. We have no compelling interest in defending the Baltic countries.

I thought it was allegedly conservatives who had knee-jerk reactions to “change.”

I suspect that most folks like Donald Trump’s USA first foreign policy. But I’m unworthy of having an opinion since I’m not a backstabbing globalist elitist who will sell out fellow US citizens for maximum profit and control.

Yeah, the world is so perfect right now. I’d sure hate to see Trump screw things up...

Let’s see, is Europe in great shape today?

The Muslim hoards are ruling the roost. Women can’t even go outside alone.

Yep, I’d hate Trump to screw things up.

Trump’s foreign policy is based on consulting with himself and having a good brain and saying a lot of things. In other words, incoherence and runaway narcissism.

Perfectly true. We pay billions and billions to our “allies” and our enemies, and we get practically nothing in return.

It made sense to help Europe recover from the Second World War, but we never figured out when to start cutting back. So we defend Europe, and they use the money to run socialist regimes and import terrorists. Great way to spend money we no longer have.

The same thing goes on all over the world.

It’s not a question of deserting our allies—which Obama has done if anyone has. It’s a matter of getting them to pay their fair share.

How much does the U.S. pay for NATO?

I feel so lucky to have VOX here to explain the shortcommings of Trump’s foreign policy for the benefit of we Lumpkin. I wonder if they could take minute more and explain the logic of what we have been doing for the last fifty years.

1) Trump doesn't really understand the post-WWII international order

2) Trump wants to sell American credibility for money

3) Trump wants America to become more like a rogue state

4) Trump sees himself as applying business savvy to foreign policy, but shows profound ignorance of even basic business concepts

Plus Mr. Dumbass didn't even know it was illegal for US Companies to sell products in Iran.

“But the more you hear from Trump, the clearer it becomes that something else is going on: He either does not believe in or simply does not understand the international order that has governed the world since the end of World War II. “

Rough summary:

We need to be everywhere and pay trillions to protect everything, because “muh American pride” is based on massive debts to make the planet one big American protectorate?

If other nations want to constantly belittle us, and use the savings from not having to run a real military of their own, on welfare and socialism....well I don’t care, because again “muh American pride” is wrapped in being the world’s policeman.

“He either does not believe in or simply does not understand the international order that has governed the world since the end of World War II.”

Oh yes he does! And that whole paradigm needs to be completely changed so that while America is still the world’s leader, it does not do it for free! Europe (and Asia for that matter) have had a “free ride” with the taxpayers of this country footing nearly all of the bill for providing for their security. Let them arm themselves sufficiently to be their own protectors with the US as their backup. We have not engaged in a “successful war” since WWII. NONE of the military involvments we’ve had have done anything to enhance our security, but they have resulted in tens of thousands of our young people giving up their lives along with the pissing away of trillions of our hard-earned dollars. It isn’t “isolationist” to tell them all to man up and take care of themselves!

Max Fisher, here, writes as if a citizen candidate is a danger to our country.

Only the John Kerry types and HRC types should dare to run for president.

THAT party is over friends.

"TRUMP: Certainly the deal is not long enough. Because at the end of the deal they’re going to have great nuclear capability. So certainly the deal isn’t long enough. I would never have given them back the $150 billion under any circumstances. I would’ve never allowed that to happen. They are, they are now rich, and did you notice they’re buying from everybody but the United States? They’re buying planes, they’re buying everything, they’re buying from everybody but the United States. I would never have made the deal.

SANGER: Our law prevents us from selling to them, sir.

TRUMP: Uh, excuse me?

SANGER: Our law prevents us from selling any planes or, we still have sanctions in the U.S. that would prevent the U.S. from being able to sell that equipment.

TRUMP: So, how stupid is that?

This exchange between reporter and Trump should tell you all you need to know. I'm not sure how anyone that is a Trump supporter can defend the above or say it was taken out of context, but I'm sure people will try. He just looks plain stupid. My only hope is that if he gets elected President, he has sense enough to hire top foreign policy guys to man State, National Security, Homeland Security and Defense and let them alone!
