A google search for “muslim crucifies priest” produces NO news stories from the mainstream media.

He WAS a Christian and he was martyred for his faith on Good Friday.

Lobbing spears slowed them centuries ago. Lobbing bombs slows them now. Lobbing love, as the pope suggests, is what creates no avenging children becoming soldiers in the next generation. Lobbing love and evangelism is the only way to rid the world of the evil of islam.

I noticed the Easter Sunday massacre of Christians disappeared from the front page of my local paper’s website (The Seattle Times) before the day was even over. It was replaced by the usual celebrity crapola.
This not an appropriate occasion for intramural squabbles with our Reformed brothers and sisters. It is a time for all of Christianity to come together in solidarity against the menace of radical Islam. If they had crucified a Reformed pastor, we ought to be every bit as outraged. An attack upon one of us is an attack upon all of us.

Christians must miss no opportunity to point out the difference between the TRUE martyrs (Matthew 16:25) like Father Tom, and the FALSE “martyrs” of Islam.
Father Tom could have saved his own physical life in this world by renouncing Jesus Christ. Instead he remained strong and by witnessing for his faith, he became a true martyr (the word means witness) and gained eternal life. His REAL faith in the one TRUE life-giving God of love cannot be taken away by any threat made by mere men.
Committing suicide and murdering innocents cannot be martyrdom, and cannot possibly gain eternal life. Both murder and suicide are intrinsically evil acts, committed by evil MEN motivated by despair and hatred of self and of others. By choosing to commit murder / suicide, they are claiming godlike powers for themselves over life itself. This is inherently blasphemous. Theirs is a false faith in a false god.
