President Obama on Sunday called the parents of two Americans killed in the Brussels terror attacks to express his condolences, according to a White House official.
Justin and Stephanie Shults, who had been missing since Tuesday’s deadly attacks that killed 30 and injured 200, have been confirmed dead by their families and the companies they worked for, according to ABC News.
“The President affirmed that Justin and Stephanie epitomized all that was good about America, and he told their parents that their tragic deaths have touched the hearts of all of us,” said the White House official. “The President further assured them that the thoughts, prayers, strength, and resolve of the Nation are with them at this difficult time.”
Neither U.S. nor Belgian officials have confirmed the deaths, according to ABC News.
The coupled married in 2011 and were 2009 graduates of Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, according to the Tennessean.
Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday confirmed the deaths of two other Americans, siblings living in New York City.
