Why did Ted Cruz's PAC give half a million to Carly Fiorina's?
CBS NEWS ^ | 01 OCTOBER 2015 | CHRISTINA RUFFINI

The Federal Election Commission (FEC) has asked a Ted Cruz super PAC to explain why it gave $500,000 to another super PAC supporting one of his Republican rivals.

According to financial disclosures from June, Keep the Promise I - one of four separate committees backing Cruz - gave half a million dollars to CARLY for America, the political action committee supporting Carly Fiorina.

Super PACs are legally allowed to give money to other super PACs - they are only prohibited from donating directly to any political campaign. But it's unusual for one of these groups to give money to an opponent, especially when the candidate it supports is still in the race.

‘Not all represent candidates, but can even be only “anti-candidate,” which is its own strange beast.’

Why would a PAC be “anti-candidate”? Honest PACs should be “pro-candidate”. Is there an anti-Cruz PAC? Anti-Kasich?

The only reason for the existence of an “anti-candidate” PAC is that their nemesis threatens their livelihood or the their very existence.

Think GOPe; think cheap labor express.

So its being suggested that Carly Fiorina black mailed Ted Cruz into providing her political campaign with $500K as some sort of hush money?

No, it's being suggested that one of Ted's mistresses, who worked in the Fiorina campaign, was funneled some "hush money".

It looks rather suspicious on the face of it.

I'm sure there's plausible deniability, but it still doesn't look good.

This "Sarah Isgur Flores" person apparently got a lump payment of almost $150K, and then was put on a $10K/week stipend.

Not bad...

I’m wondering if the ‘affair’ story is just smoke and mirrors for this - the real story. The affair story bought this to light.

//Why is the media making a big deal out of something completely legal?//

Because it is NOT legal as the article states.

“Will you still support Trump if he goes to the “dark side” and picks Kasich as his VP? Be’ honest”

The only way he would do that is if there is a brokered convention and the only way to win would be Kasich’s delegagtes. I would not call that going over to the dark side. To keep the GOP at bay yes I would.

As for Carly that money transfer was 6 momnths ago so Ted has been lying to us all along if he has her for Veep.

And you apparently weren't smart enough to pick up on the fact that he's counting on the support of rubes like yourself whose "conservatism" can be bought and are just too dull to realize that he's playing you for a fool.

Uh, ok, enlighten me...how has it been "bought"? He sure hasn't given me any money yet. LOL And now you are calling me a "rube"? LOL So you agree with Ted Cruz that Trump's followers are just a bunch of idiots? OH, wait, wasn't your point that Ted Cruz doesn't think that? I'm getting really confused here following your pretzel logic.

Insider Kasich vs. outsider Carley. And you choose the insider.

Because whatever Trump does makes it right. Gotcha.

I know it must hurt and projection will only get you so far, but you'll have to grow a thicker hide if you choose to entertain insults like that from Trump.

And they must not call you "Bubba Gump" for nothing.

Trump is happy that you liked the line.

He and his boys continue to amuse themselves at the expense of many shallow minded "conservatives."

We of the pajamahadin need to start research on this story —is it true? If it is, there must be evidence of Cruz and his womanizing. If it is Cruz needs to pull out of the race (as if his inflated ego would let him). WE NEED TO KNOW THE TRUTH!

Uh, ok, enlighten me...how has it been "bought"? He sure hasn't given me any money yet. LOL

Trump's hubris is founded in his money alone. He is predominantly a man of craft, not necessarily a man of principle --- unless, of course, you happen to consider a guy who supports his wealth on the backs of pathological gamblers to be a man of principle.

His money so far has made him untouchable by the media and he is not subjected to critical thinking by his adoring acolytes, such as yourself.

Either that or your "conservatism" is indeed as shallow as he considers yours to be. Either way, you have affirmatively earned the title, "rube."

Trump's life and his words are the embodiment of internal confliction.

It is no wonder that one such as yourself who has been bought by all the feigned hubris finds himself by his own admission to be so confused.

Cruz had nothing to do with it. If the Super PAC people thought they would do that on their own, that is considered legal.

There was no reason for Cruz to have done that and it was/is illegal to even whisper to anyone with a Super PAC to do anything.

We simply don't know what happened or why, and neither does the FEC; that is why they are investigating it.

Ben Shapiro? The anti-Trump crusader and clearly in love with Cruz? Yea, that’s a great source for sorting out this rats nest.

Pssst, it was Rubio all along, with a big heap of help from the GOPe aka Rove and other fellow skunks.
