It has been said that if we were to come back in 100 years and see what the state of the surgical art is, this is it. If what you see here it to be believed, there will likely be no surgeons of significance in 2116. They will probably have trauma down as well. This presentation is a bit complex but fascinating.
New surgery from Israel:
This machine that the Israelis have created is a miracle and may be miles ahead of anything we have. It reportedly can cure so many things without opening up the body. While the Arabs are figuring out how to kill off the world, the Israelis are working on saving it! Incredible!
Truly remarkable! Perhaps the future of medicine from Israel. There is no doubt that God blessed this little nation with knowledge way beyond normal technology...

My experience with lithotripsy left me with a more difficult recovery than from any of 4 c-sections. I felt like I was hit by a truck and then run over a few times for good measure...a full week before feeling somewhat normal. 4 successive c-sections and each was easier than previous - with 3 day recovery average.
True. But it’s a new line of thinking and will lead to other and better paths... The first telephone wasn’t impressive by our standards of today either... but it was a mind blowing ‘first’..
My take on the way they used it for metastatic bone cancer and why they mentioned it was considered palliative treatment is that mode of treatment gave them an opportunity to treat a human with an experimental treatment in real time while doing it ethically. No promises of cure, palliative treatment is generally thought of as to relieve pain or make other symptoms bearable while not treating with the goal of prolonging life.
Not sure if I understand it well, but I think this tech, combined with other things could have a huge impact.
Something like lysis of a clot in an artery would probably need to be done alongside the use of a filter, so as not to cause micro-emboli. Same thing with stones and some tumors, too, but the possibilities of tech like this seem endless to me.

The devil is in the details. For intracranial clot lysis, maybe.
For general body applications, we’ll see. As fat as people are today, to build a ring of US emitters to fit most patients might not be cost effective, but this is just my guess. This technology is like cyberknife treatment except swapping US for xrays.
I’ll wait and see - the hype is strong in this one. And don’t get rid of your general surgeon yet.
