The polls were giving Trump a 12 to 14 point lead. Cruz says Trump always “underperforms”. Instead we see him with a lead of almost twice what was predicted. This is a blow out.

I prefer a disaster as an attempt to fix what's broken over a prolonged disaster sold as success kept small by an opposing party being disagreeable as we all take a lemmings walk to a high sharp cliff.
Anyone ever tasked with fixing something big and complex knows that analysis paralysis is worse than even a bad decision. Bad decisions can be fixed if you are allowed to get hold of the tails.
