Former presidential candidate Mitt Romney will vote for Texas Senator Ted Cruz, saying he is "repulsed" by Republican front-runner Donald Trump.
Mr Romney said in a Facebook post that the only way to nominate a Republican is to have an open convention, in which party officials choose the nominee.
He campaigned with Governor John Kasich in Ohio but said voting for Mr Cruz is the only way to stop "Trumpism".

"Mitt Romney is a mixed up man who doesn't have a clue. No wonder he lost!" Mr Trump said on Twitter.

"Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism," Mr Romney said. "Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence. I am repulsed by each and every one of these."

Even Romney in his endorsement acknowledged that Cruz wasn’t going to win, just vote for him to block Trump.
If Cruz actually thinks that he will be rewarded with the nomination for doing the establishment’s dirty work, he’s delusional.
If, four years ago, Romney had opposed The Won as hard as he’s opposing Trump now, he’d be running for reelection today.

Let that sink in for a moment. YOU failed to defeat the single worst President in the history of the Republic. YOU failed after he pushed the most unpopular piece of legislation in my lifetime. YOU failed when unemployment was the highest in my decades. You failed.
I didn't particularly want to vote for Trump. But, the more I see the Left scream about him and the more I watch people who lost on the Right attempt to deny the votes of regular people like me... the more I know he is going to win. I am now going to vote for Trump.
