Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is firing back after conservative New York Times columnist David Brooks called for the GOP to reject Trump.
“While I have never met @nytdavidbrooks of the NY Times, I consider him one of the dumbest of all pundits- he has no sense of the real world!” Trump tweeted early Saturday morning.
“Reading @nytdavidbrooks of the NY Times is a total waste of time, he is a clown with no awareness of the world around him- dummy!” he added.

I have always thought Brooks was a vapid columnist, even before his moronic pants crease comment.
He is emblematic of the problem with the GOP elite.

Not only has it not hurt him, it increases the strength of his support.
If you've watched his rally videos he always asks to have the cameras pan to show his crowd size, and of course they don't. It reaffirms what everyone knows, the mass media has an agenda that is left wing. So all the crap printed on paper or on the web is viewed as, "well, there they go again with their lying and smears." Trump repeats that message at every stop and the media grows wilder and wilder every day. They can't break out of the loop.
Trump is destroying the political correctness that has come to define the Republicans; all he has to do now is win while he does it.
