Your dreaming, never going to happen and my stock of Ted Cruz would take a sharp nose dive, if he did. Ted Cruz is a real Reaganite, Trump is a blowhard nothing burger, he stands for nothing, believes in nothing, and is running the campaign of a used car salesman, promise everything and deliver nothing but the bucks into his pocket!

I can hardly wait to say ‘I TOLD YOU SO!!!’

what is in process is a Trump/Cruz alliance. Cruz will be offered what he wants. that might not be VP.

If he says as a FReeper suggested I want Attorney General rather than VP he will get it.

It is not a treaty between a winner and a loser but rather an alliance to consolidate the power provided by primary voters to utilize the power to take control and move forward

The question is now how to consolidate the power and implement control

Well, I think we should all try to put the animosity behind us and focus on our future and the future of America. It’s not just about us.

I think the goal should remain: Securing the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our POSTERITY.

At this point Cruz can either join Trump (assuming Trump invites him) or get left in the dust.

If it’s option #2 then he can go quietly, or he can do his best to help the liberal uniparty establishment get President Hillary elected like the rest of the neocons are bent on doing.

1. Has the animosity grown too strong to overcome between them?

Not if they pivot to joining forces to fight the Republican party apparatus that is actively working to undermine both of their campaigns, and to literally steal the nomination way from 65-75% of Republican voters.

100%, it would be THE best.
POTUS contenders, by definition, MUST have the highest self confidence and self-regard. Look at all the garbage that gets flung at them.
It’s hard for them to imagine being #2. But I think the nation is going Trump. Cruz getting on board would be fantastic, if he could swallow his pride.

P.S. — How Sweet It Would Be For Cruz to be Mitch McConnel’s boss as President of the Senate.

Have long been hoping for Trump Cruz ticket.

Cruz would tone Trump down, knock some of the hard bark off of him.

Cruz would be a good understudy as VP, not treat the VPOTUS job as a "warm bucket of spit". He would be a solid POTUS candidate eventually.

Trump would man up Cruz a little bit too... teach him a little bit about finance and business.

I think all the ill will between the two can be patched up and cleaned up, likewise Cruz can patch it up with the GOPe and Senate.

If true, they won’t announce anything until they are certain Trump won’t have the nomination outright.

Cruz will pull in evangelicals like Palin did with McCain in 08’

Trump is already getting Evangelicals. He won them, and all other demos, in Florida. He also won most of the Bible Belt and sweeped through the South. When Trump doesn't win them, but comes a close second, it seems to have more to do with where they live and local culture than it does with their religion. Meanwhile, Trump already has Palin on his team.

Cruz would help in the general. I would vote for Trump with gusto, instead of just holding my nose.

You're right of course. I should have said that a Trump/Cruz ticket would bring in more republican/conservative voters than one or the other. I meant that Cruz wouldn't bring in more "undecideds" in the general against Lady Macbeth; but I don't know that anybody would.

Trump has won in most evangelical-heavy states so far.

This would be a dream come true, regardless of which one was on top of the ticket.

Lets pray they each have the maturity and good sense to take this approach.

The rumors are that emissaries from the Trump and Cruz’s camps have decided to unite before the convention before Ryan or Kaisch could be installed.

“especially since Cruz seems to have made a deal with the devil, by siding with the GOPe against Trump.”

Showing exactly why many Trump supporters are living in La La Land. So you want to ditch Cruz supporters AND the GOPe and go it all alone. The only way to do tha is to out muscle Hillary for Dem supporters. At that point, you are no longer conservatives, you are either sell outs, or likely just losers.

"...Hogwash. The two of them are both man enough to bury the hatchet..."

dware...you are absolutely 100% correct.
Donald Trump and Ted Cruz could simply announce they had a meeting, discussed outstanding items, and are working together to defeat Hillary Clinton to improve our beloved country.

I believe it would be the absolute best thing.

But Cruz is the one who has to first put down the hatchet and come to Trump to do it.

If he did, and if, when he did it, his delegates pushed Trump well over the top, then all of the past can be forgotten, and then these two men could do a LOT of good for our nation over the next (hopefully) 16 years.

IMHO, we need that kind of time frame and concerted effort to undo all the bad that has been done to the republic.

I hope and I pray they are both strong enough to do this for the good of the nation.
