Veteran GOP strategist Mark McKinnon told Breitbart News Daily that the rise of Donald Trump in the 2016 election reflects the fact that for years, the Republican Party “has had no clear vision of the future.” The GOP establishment, he said, “soaked the place in kerosene. All Donald Trump did was light a match.” In this election, “the Republicans are just going to have to burn the house down and rebuild it.”

If the GOPe had done its job, there would be no Trump candidacy. Trump is a direct reflection of their own failure.

“...All Donald Trump Did Was Light A Match..”

Yes. A very bright match that the majority of real Republicans want. If the Republican Party wants to survive, they will NOT disenfranchise their majority. And right now, they are in a no-win position when it comes to trying to trash Trump. Their choice.

If I remember correctly, wasn’t Mark McKinnon one of the ‘advisers’ who got us in this problem?

Given his stature it’s amazing that Rush Limbaugh didn’t see this coming
Seems Donald Trump is brighter than the GOPE and the mainstream media

Says the man who allowed Mark Halperin to film him drinking martinis while trying to destroy Donald Trump.

And take off that foolish Stetson, McKinnon, you look like a real jerk.

The GOPe is so hopelessly corrupt, and yes criminal, that they would have made Boss Tweed of Tammany Hall blush.

the Republican Party has had no clear vision of the future

This is just very wrong. They have had a very very clear vision of the future - with them in charge selling favors to those who pay to play, going along with the democrats and never working to hard and only voting when it was necessary to get the latest piece of pork larded product past some bitter enders who had pangs of conscience about the country and the tax payers.

The problem is utter lack of patriotism and morality. They salute the flag with one finger and observe the constitution by letting Obama trample on it.

trade agreements and immigration ... were not even in the top hundred on the establishment’s radar.... These are not dumb people. They’re very smart people.

Jeb, Neil, little Marco - these are not very smart people.

The voters are saying, ‘Listen, you guys don’t have a clue. So, we’re going to give you one.’”

No we are not. You are clueless. We just want you gone. Every single last one of you. Out. Go.

I don't think that it's fair to say that the GOP had no clear vision for the future. Their vision has become rather obvious. "Ignore the constituency while selling themselves to the highest bidder."

“If the GOPe had done its job, there would be no Trump candidacy. Trump is a direct reflection of their own failure.”

Trump is a democrat and an opportunist, he has said that if he were to run for President he would run as a Republican because Republicans are stupid. The GOP-e certainly gave him the opportunity by not only ignoring their Conservative base but going to war in an attempt to “crush” and by financing obama’s agenda including obamacare, PP, etc. and always having the votes to confirm his appointees.
