lot of Texans try to pronounce it He-bert.

Not in far SE Texas. :)

In somewhat related news, I saw that they may be closing I-10 at the LA/TX border. Can't remember that ever happening due to flood.

If that happens, every route between LA/TX in our parts will be closed (I-10, TX,-12 , & US 190). The Sabine River must be raging.

My family drove to the Carolinas from Houston area over the weekend. Stretches of I-10 in Louisiana apparently closed because of construction, flooding and/or accidents. Trucker at one of their gas stops suggested they follow him and they finally made it through to Georgia by nightfall on Saturday. Was a long day for them. Feel so sorry for the people along the way. River sometimes takes more than it gives but all that rain had to go somewhere.

Just saw on our local news that all I-10 traffic at TX/LA border is being diverted to I-20 Marshall to Shreveport and then down I guess to US 171 or I-49. 8 hour detour.. Yikes

Thanks for the info. Will pass on to my family. One of my clients drove back to Houston from Atlanta yesterday. Headed north and then west to Oklahoma and then I35/I45 to Houston. Said they thought the entire world was taking that route. Traffic very heavy and it took them several extra hours but at least no flooding.
