Yahoo to cut 1,700 workers as CEO tries to save her own job

Yahoo is laying off about 1,700 employees and shedding some of its excess baggage in a shake-up likely to determine whether CEO Marissa Mayer can save her own job.
The long-anticipated purge announced Tuesday will jettison about 15 percent of Yahoo’s workforce along with an assortment of services that Mayer decided aren’t worth the time and money that the Internet company has been putting into them.
The overhaul probably represents Mayer’s last chance to persuade restless shareholders she has figured out how to revive Yahoo’s growth after 3 1/2 years of futility.
Yahoo’s revenue has been shrinking through most of Mayer’s reign, even though she has spent more than $3 billion on acquisitions and introducing features designed to bring in more traffic and sell more advertising.
Did she create that neat graphic I was commenting on?
We used to live in DC. When I went to the polling place to vote, a neighbor whom I knew personally handed me a sample ballot, suggesting I vote for XYZ for whatever office. When I told her I couldn’t because I was voting in the R primary, she was astonished, so much so that she had to call all XYZ’s other volunteers, all neighbors, and point to me, telling one and all that I was voting in the R primary. Kinda like pedophilia, I guess, in their minds.
This was actually a caucus of delegates selected at a previous caucus open to all registered members of the GOP back on March 1, Super Tuesday. So the result was not exactly a surprise.
I support Cruz and any loss by NY liberal Trump is a good thing in my book. But to describe DC and WY as “major primary losses” is ridiculous. CA, NY and FL are major. DC and WY are asterisks.
I once lived in DC too, up near the Cathedral. One day I had a W Bush baseball cap on. Some well-dressed white woman pushing a baby in a stroller stopped in her tracks and started screaming obscenities at me.
My only regret is that I won’t be able to vote for Trump in the AZ Primary. I’m a friggin’ registered Democrat.
Oh well, at least I can vote for bernice. I have two granddaughters and a grandson, and free college would be nice. /s
I’m still registered D because, in our county, the only action at county, local and many state-level offices is on the D side. On the R side, the candidate (if any) is often unopposed in the primaries.
Plus it gives me street cred when people at the plant say “you only say that because you’re a republican.” To that I say, “no I’m not”. That knocks ‘em backward every time, since they know I’m the hardest-core conserv in the place. Strategery.

I doubt this.
Why should we believe something posted from People mag? LOL!
Did you even read the information I posted? or did you just read the last 4 words.
Dagnabitt, There is a difference between ridiculous and psychotic. This woman needs to be drug tested. But she is not alone. All the experts appear to be using LSD. The MAJOR “primaries” in DC and Wyoming are Trumps Waterloo. His hundredth Waterloo. How many Waterloos can this man survive?
I did but it said nothing about tens of thousands voting. Did you just make that up?
Did I not make that statement conditional? Doesn’t matter anyway, what I posted about the voting process in Wyoming refutes your original post. The one precinct described in the article had 778 votes, there are 27 precincts. Are you going to make the ridiculous argument that only 124 people voted in the 26 other precincts?
The corrupt left is getting frantic by sending in their paid thugs to disrupt.
Let's see what they say after Florida, and hopefully Ohio....
Trump LOST in Cheney-Bush Land!!!!! What a SURPRISE!!!!
And in the heart of Bureautopia - Washington DC!!! ANOTHER SURPRISE!!!!
Should help him with the rest of the nation.
Guess the Cheneys went all out on this one - the wholte tribe.
See my post #64.
No, no. You can't guess what libs think about pedophilia. They might think anything, unfortunately, and hold peds in higher esteem than doctors of divinities or Laura Bush. You just can't tell any more.
Yep. People have no idea how bad it is in DC, even it’s “better” residential areas, with extreme partisanship there.
(We were over in Woodley Park. I mostly enjoyed/loved living there, but the politics was horrible, just horrible. I can’t imagine it’s gotten any better because the WORST, as you experienced, are the white middle to upper middle class!)
