So Ted Cruz just insulted a massive number of GOP Trump supporters. They'll remember that insult in the general election if Cruz wins the nomination.

Cruz just signalled, intentionally or unintentionally, that he does not desire the support of the Trump team.

According to Cruz math he is now going to win the nomination and the general without 40+ % of the voters engaged enough to actually vote in the primaries.

Interesting strategy...

Apparently, Trump supporters do not like it when someone tells it like it is.

Trump is a man who brags about sleeping with married women, calls avoiding STDs during his sleeping around as his own personal Vietnam, is pro-choice, defends planned parenthood, supported assault weapons bans, calls other candidates pussies, drops f bombs on the campaign trail, talks about his little donald on national television, called Ben Carson a psycopath, supports single payer, supported amnesty during gang of 8 fight, gave money to open border/amnesty supporting Senators, supported Hillary Clinton's Presidential run in 2008, defrauded Americans tens of thousands of dollars via Trump University, supports expansion of H1-B program, hired foreigners over American workers, hired illegals to build his hotels, sued little old ladies to take away her home to build a parking lot, gave more money to the Clinton Foundation than veteran's groups, and says he is flexible on his immigration positions, but his supporters get upset when they are called uninformed. Supporters who believe he is a Conservative and not a liberal Democrat.

If you needed proof that Trumpettes were uninformed this thread is all the evidence you need.

I agree that it was stupid of Cruz to "insult" some voters.

Just as I think it has been stupid of Trump to insult so many people other. And that is why I am afraid he will blow up after winning the general election. His unfavorables are sky high.

AND - he is a low information candidate. He even broke debate rules for heaven's sake, and had his campaign manager meet with him during the breaks in the debate to give him advice.

But the good news is - he can garner some cross-over voters from the democrat side in addition to his base. He can siphon some populist union voters, and black voters.

And I don't want to rain on anyone's parade - but these are the exact group of voters that many Freepers here for years and years - have labeled as Low Information, and Not that engaged voters. Or even sometimes caustically referred to here as one issue voters.

But I have to agree and think that it was a mistake for Cruz to have said something like that on the record, and to have insulted some voters like Trump has repeatedly.

I am a Trump supporter, but I know this much:

Neil Bush, the guy who just yeseterday took over control of Lyin’ Ted’s finances, paid a settlement for civil fraud and his numerous “breaches of his fiduciary duties involving multiple conflicts of interest” while a director of Silverado Savings and Loan ended up costing the US taxpayers $1.3 billion. And that was back when a billion was real money...

So, just let Lyin’ Ted keep on running his mouth and making his choices...or having them made for him. It’s all working out as brilliantly as his plan to win all the debates, or to have Glenn Beck as his chief advocate.

Lyin’ Ted, Cryin’ Glenn, Snarly Carly, and Silverado Neil...that’s the Cruz Dream team, backed by Jeff Roe and the Dirty Tricksters.

It doesn’t take an advanced degree to find Calgary, Alberta on the map, and establish that it is in Canada, and was in Canada at the time of the Senator’s birth there.

And it doesn’t take an attorney to establish that there has never been an individual born outside the US, elected President.

Any good originalist scholar of the Constitution would reach the conclusion that persons born out side the boundaries of the United States, were not intended to be eligible for election as president.

If a person born outside the US, wishing to run for election to be president, retained sound counsel, they would inform said prospective candidate he was not eligible.

If said prospective candidate retained himself to also be his own Constitutional lawyer, he would have a fool for a client and a fool for a lawyer.

You can only be insulted if you read the CBN excerpts and the authors commentary only and not the whole Cruz interview in the piece...Drudge has a link.

Cruz is answering the guys question about why he has lagged in the South and with Evangelicals; he’s critiquing the primary race and how it has gone for him and Trump in the Southeastern and Western states so far.

Cruz is not saying Trump voters are stupid...rather he said that they have “low information” about both him and Trump and are relying more on their anger against corrupt politicians to support Trump.

Cruz is saying that as voters learn more about his candidacy and how he has stood up to the Washington corruption and they discover more information about Trump’s history of supporting this corruption through donations to the Gang of 8 and to the Hildabeast, they are starting to realize that Trump has been part of the corrupt Washington system and some of these voters are moving toward him.

Please watch the video and you might reconsider your allegiance!

What an elitist scumbag.. Just like LOSER Romney. He lost me for good and I’m Trump or bust at this point and writing him in if this newly appointed King of the establishment royalty class is nominated.
Let this be his undoing.

How many times has DT insulted me? Shirley you are not suggesting that DT picks up other candidates voters after they drop out. Bottom line - there are facts in there. Trump supporters do not care about his record, close ties with dems, policies which he changes all the time or lack of knowledge on issues. Because his supporters know and don’t care makes seems like defacto low info voters.
On a practical level, Cruz will never get most Trump voters anyway, those to whom records and demeanor matter have already discounted Trump. And there are more than enough gop voters to overcome DT when it does one to one.

Why, here's just *ONE* meaningful, thoughtful, detailed response that trump-pets eat up! How can you call them "low-info" voters when trump's educating them with this gem:

AND if you're *still* somehow not convinced that trump will "Make America Great Again"(tm), consider this undeniable, unassailable, *irrefutable* logic:
IT'S WRITTEN ON HIS HAT!!

“So Ted Cruz just insulted a massive number of GOP Trump supporters. “

I was insulted the moment a foreign born, Bush lackey 44 year old lawyer, first term congressman with NO executive experience announced a run for president.

We see Ted’s type of condescension echoed all the way down the food chain. I guess that’s considered smart in Cruz circles.

As a Christian, I do forgive Sen Cruz for what he has said. But as an American, this will not help him.

The text of a recent letter I sent to the Cruz campaign:

Please take me off your mailing list immediately.

I have supported Senator Cruz from the beginning and have even contributed to his campaign, but he has now gone too far and I no longer believe that he is the “outsider” he claims to be. Cruz’s failure to utter a word in condemnation of Romney’s criticism of Trump when Romney couldn’t find a bad thing to say about the disaster of a president we have now; Cruz’s failure to criticize or object to GOP plans to hijack the convention; his upcoming meeting with Jeb Bush; and now his reference to Trump voters as “low information” and “not that engaged” really pisses me off - and Cruz has the audacity and arrogance to object to some of the things Trump has to say? Can honest, patriotic Americans not disagree without being insulted? Does he not recognize the significance of the fact that 60 to 70 percent of GOP voters (and many other Americans) feel betrayed by the GOP leadership with whom he now appears to be aligned?

Many things that have occurred over the course of the past few weeks lead me to believe that GOP “leaders” [emphasis added] and their liberal allies intend to do everything within their power to derail Trump’s campaign and thwart the will of the voters. I now believe that Senator Cruz is party to those plans, whatever they may be. To paraphrase Senator Sasse - another person to whose campaign I contributed in an obvious lapse of judgment (see reports on the meeting at Sea Island, GA) - “I cannot support Ted Cruz and I cannot support the ‘Mississippi’ng’ of Donald Trump.”

Ted Cruz is not a very honest person. He says stuff that is out of context half truths. This is one reason I hate politicians, very slimy. I’d rather have the f-word.

Brody File Exclusive: Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump's Voters Have "relatively low information" And Are "not that engaged"

The title doesn’t match what Cruz said: “Donald does well with voters who have relatively low information, who are not that engaged and who are angry and they see him as an angry voice. Where we are beating him is when voters’ get more engaged and they get more informed.”

I’d say that’s true. He does well with low info voters. That doesn’t mean all of his voters are low info. It doesn’t mean he ONLY appeals to low info voters. It doesn’t mean the majority of his voters are low info.

I’d say that David Brody isn’t too sharp though.

“Now Donald has a harder problem in the West,” Cruz said. “It’s interesting. I mean, his location, he does well in the Southeast. He does well with a certain demographic of voter. Donald gave a press conference where he said, to quote him, ‘I love the poorly educated.’”
