Direct action tactics , blocking abortion clinics in the 80s did not get very far.

Blockers were not united.

why don’t they just abort the mothers? that way they won’t get pregnant again.

No; just sterilize them.

If later in life they DO want a child; there are PLENTY of them available!

Considering a lot of these abortions are forced why not abort the father who got them pregnant?

There'll be those who say, "What about incest and rape?"

Then I'll reply:

"When you prosecute and jail a rapist or a relative; THEN we'll kill the child."

...if the policy of the Government upon vital questions affecting the whole people is to be irrevocably fixed by decisions of the Supreme Court, the instant they are made in ordinary litigation between parties in personal actions the people will have ceased to be their own rulers...

I'll need a longer bumper.

The law of chastity of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) states that any sexual relations outside of opposite-sex marriage are contrary to the will of God, and in principle forbids homosexual behaviour. Violations of the law of chastity may result in church discipline. Members of the church who experience homosexual attractions, including those who self-identify as gay, lesbian, or bisexual, may remain in good standing in the church if they abstain from all homosexual relations (and from heterosexual relations outside of opposite-sex marriage). Though no one, including active homosexuals, is forbidden from LDS Church Sunday worship services, acquiring and maintaining membership in the church, and receiving a temple recommend, is dependent upon observing the law of chastity’s prohibition of sexual relationships outside of a marital relationship between husband and wife.

Although the LDS Church has taught that homosexuality is a curable condition, it acknowledges that “individuals do not choose to have such attractions.” The church teaches that regardless of the cause of same sex attraction, “immoral relationships” must be abjured.

The LDS Church has campaigned against government recognition of same-sex marriage, and since the 1990s the issue of same-sex marriage has become one of the church’s foremost political concerns; church members represented as much as 80 to 90 percent of the early volunteers petitioning voters door-to-door and 50 percent of the campaign funds in support of California Proposition 8 (2008). The LDS Church supported a Salt Lake City ordinance protecting members of the LGBT community against discrimination in employment and housing while at the same time allowing religious institutions to discriminate in hiring or providing university accommodations, stating it remained “unequivocally committed to defending the bedrock foundation of marriage between a man and a woman.”

In December 2012, the church launched the website titled “Love One Another: A Discussion on Same-Sex Attraction” at mormonsandgays.org “in an effort to encourage understanding and civil conversation about same-sex attraction.”

In November 2015, the church updated its policies regarding those in same-sex unions, along with the impact of children coming from families headed by same-sex couples.

The LDS Church Handbook of Instructions (given to leadership only and kept secret until recently when leaks required they release only HALF of it) states that abortion is permitted as long as you pray about it.

The church teaches that regardless of the cause of same sex attraction, “immoral relationships” must be abjured.

Well; it DOES try to nip it in the bud; so to speak.

What is your church doing to help the male to stay true?

prophet kimball"All of this should be conveyed without having priesthood leaders focus upon intimate matters which are a part of husband and wife relationships. Skillful interviewing and counseling can occur without discussion of clinical details by placing firm responsibility on individual members of the Church to put their lives in order before exercising the privilege of entering a house of the Lord. The First Presidency has interpreted oral sex as constituting an unnatural, impure, or unholy practice. If a person is engaged in a practice which troubles him enough to ask about it, he should discontinue it."
- Official Declaration of the First Presidency of the Church, January 5th, 1982

spencer kimball"Prophets anciently and today condemn masturbation. It induces feelings of guilt and shame. It is detrimental to spirituality. It indicates slavery to the flesh, not that mastery of it and the growth toward godhood which is the object of our mortal life. Our modern prophet has indicated that no young man should be called on a mission who is not free from this practice. What is more, it too often leads to grievous sin, even to that sin against nature, homosexuality. For, done in private, it evolves often into mutual masturbation-practiced with another person of the same sex and thence into total homosexuality...."
- Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, Pages 77-79, 81-82

"Among the most common sexual sins our young people commit are necking and petting. Not only do these improper relations often lead to fornication, [unwed] pregnancy, and abortions - all ugly sins - but in and of themselves they are pernicious evils, and it is often difficult for youth to distinguish where one ends and another begins. They awaken lust and stir evil thoughts and sex desires. They are but parts of the whole family of related sins and indiscretions. Almost like twins, 'petting' and fornication are alike."
- Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, page 65

spencer kimball"Also far-reaching is the effect of the loss of chastity. Once given or taken or stolen it can never be regained. Even in a forced contact such as rape or incest, the injured one is greatly outraged. If she has not cooperated and contributed to the foul deed, she is of course in a more favorable position. There is no condemnation where there is no voluntary participation. It is better to die in defending one's virtue than to live having lost it without a struggle."
-
Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, page 196

"And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear. Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth." (Genesis 4:9-14.) That was true of murder. It is also true of illicit sex, which, of course, includes all petting, fornication, adultery, homosexual acts, and all other perversions. The Lord may say to offenders, as He did to Cain, "What hast thou done?" The children thus conceived make damning charges against you; the companions who have been frustrated and violated condemn you; the body that has been defiled cries out against you; the spirit which has been dwarfed convicts you. You will have difficulty throughout the ages in totally forgiving yourself."
-Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, "Love Versus Lust", BYU Speech January 5, 1965. Often-used quote still used today in LDS seminary classes.

kimball"I do not find in the Bible the modern terms "petting" nor "homosexuality," yet I found numerous scriptures which forbade such acts under by whatever names they might be called. I could not find the term "homosexuality," but I did find numerous places where the Lord condemned such a practice with such vigor that even the death penalty was assessed."
- Apostle Spencer W. Kimball, "Love Versus Lust", BYU Speech January 5, 1965

"If adultery or fornication justified the death penalty in the old days, and still in Christ's day, is the sin any less today because the laws of the land do not assess the death penalty for it? Is the act less grievous? There must be a washing, a purging, a changing of attitudes, a correcting of appraisals, a strengthening toward self-mastery. There must be many prayers, and volumes of tears. There must be an inner conviction giving to the sin its full diabolical weight. There must be increased devotion and much thought and study. And this takes energy and time and often is accompanied with sore embarrassment, heavy deprivations and deep trials, even if indeed one is not excommunicated from the Church, losing all spiritual blessings."
-Prophet Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, Page 155

"How like the mistletoe is immorality. The killer plant starts with a sticky sweet berry. Little indiscretions are the berries -- indiscretions like sex thoughts sex discussions, passionate kissing, pornography. The leaves and little twigs are masturbation and necking and such, growing with every exercise. The full-grown plant is petting and sex looseness. It confounds, frustrates, and destroys like the parasite if it is not cut out and destroyed, for, in time it robs the tree, bleeds its life, and leaves it barren and dry; and, strangely enough, the parasite dies with its host."
- Apostle Spencer W. Kimball, General Conference Address, April 1, 1967.

To: Morgana; All
South Carolina a LONG time ago considered a bill like this.

Let's see now:
Most ob-gyns treat the baby as a second patient...unless/until mom wants to dump said offspring.
Anesthesiologists called in for inutero surgeries of babies treat baby as the primary patient...and in the cases mentioned by this article...as another patient...

Our sickly schizophrenic society...where even "pro-lifers" wind up sanctioning death ... as long as Johnny, Jr. doesn't have to suffer...

I believe they were trying to give America a guilt trip by making them realize the baby does feel pain during an abortion.

Guilt?

You've only guilt when you finally accept the fact that you've done something wrong.

I'd like to thank the United States Government for protecting me and my kind.

You see, 40 years ago, my odds of making it out of the egg, alive, were very poor; about 80% of us died.

But a lady discovered our plight and wrote a book that addressed our problem,
and, in 1972, a law was ammended protecting us even further. (http://www.fws.gov/midwest/eagle/protect/laws.html)

What I find strange is that the same government passed a law the very next year that allowed for killing
of unborn, and apparently unwanted, humans.  Little ones still nestled safely in their Mother's womb.
Around 25% of them are dying before birth - on average nearly 3,300 - every day of the year.

I hear that by now, somewhere around 58 MILLION of them have perished.
Wouldn't that kind of mess up the humans plans for growth, and welfare, and
retirement?

Strange birds; these Homo Sapiens.  Perhaps they'll come to their senses
before they are ALL dead!

No you don’t get it. I’m over in the religion forum posting about so called Christians bragging and praying for abortions. Does that sound like guilt to you? They are not preaching guilt they are preaching “pray for abortion” and “keep abortion safe and legal” in these places. Then FReepers wonder why the Guttmacher Institute reports that many of the women who have abortions identify as “Christian”. Well maybe this is why??? Hello?

BTW I asked you a question, the lawmakers for this bill “are they mormons with an agenda” just wondering.
