Polls closed 3pm EST
23 delegates at stake.
OANN just announced the (current) results of the Puerto Rico primary, but with a graphic that read “TEXAS REPUBLICAN PRIMARY”.
When we saw that, and that Marco Rubio had 74% of the vote, BF and I thought we were in the Twilight Zone.
I think Cruz wanted Rhubarb to win this one. Being the candidate of Puerto Rico doesn’t play so well nationally.
I don’t know anything about the prison votes.
One is too many. Ten years is too soon.
Did I read they have a high tax there in Puerto Rico? Perhaps the reason for low interest for businesses.
Yeah, no harm. Wonder if this will keep Marco in until FL?
Because Cruz had already sewn up Guam and American Samoa and was working on the US Virgin Islands. Not to mention PR would be his one claim to fame if he doesn't get FL.
IIRC, the Territories have 58 or something total delegates. They will affect who the nominee might be but have no say in the election.
Breitbart article. In debt 73 Billion and its 3 times larger than Cuba’s debt. 45% of the people are in poverty. 35% food stamps But our great President gave them a 10.10 hr. min. wage for the ones actually working.
Sounds like a mess. And I’m sure Obama’s well intended minimum wage probably helped those laid off as a result of it quite a bit.
Tribal Voting....
He’ll never drop out before the 15th.
My former job is a conductor tech business and I believe they pulled out of there 2 years ago because of their taxes. I’m now retired.
Maybe we can vote him off the mainland and onto the island.
Maybe the Rube is for the PR bailout? And statehood?
After this election he just might go on his own without our help.
not guilty there
I’m glad you’re retired, and sorry to hear your firm had to pull out because of taxation.
Governments are so freaking stupid.
They raise taxes and wind up taking in less revenue.
Lower taxes and you take in more. People flock to do business there.
Oh well. They’ll never learn.
Puerto Rico is a wonderful place, but the problem is that it was Dem and heavily unionized for years. They got a good GOP governor who made a big difference a few years ago but the municipal unions kicked him out because they wanted to go back to living on a state economy gravy train. Puerto Rico’s biggest problem - otherwise, it could be wonderful.
It has natural resources, it’s beautiful, it’s close to the US, it has a very hard working population and most of the population is bilingual, especially the younger ones (although, of course, the Dems tried to crush English language learning and did slow it down).
So blame PR’s dysfunction on the Dems and the municipal unions.
Well, something sure attracted the votes.
Not sure what it was.
