WASHINGTON — The Republican civil war over Donald Trump is now raging in full fury.
Mitt Romney's extraordinary takedown Thursday of the Republicans' 2016 front-runner — he cited Trump's “bullying, the greed, the showing off, the misogyny” — was the most potent signal yet that the GOP establishment desperately wants to stop the brash business mogul from wining the 2016 nomination. Never in recent political history has the previous party presidential nominee so blatantly and brutally railed against the next in line.
Insiders, foreseeing a calamity not only for GOP White House hopes but for prospects of keeping the Senate majority, are frantically trying to organize and fund someone else. They face daunting odds. The trouble is that having someone such as Romney lead the anti-Trump charge might make the task more difficult.
“He's exactly the kind of establishment person people were turning against,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.

I am so fed up with the anti-Trump sentiment going on here and all over the country. The Republican party should be glad they have someone that a majority of people like running in the election.
I will be voting for Ted Cruz tomorrow in Kentucky but I fully suspect that Trump will win the nomination on the first ballot and if he does not have enough delegates to win on the first ballot it better be someone very close to the same number of delegates that wins the nomination.
Trump said he would support the eventual nominee but I suspect if he loses because of GOPe skulduggery he will go 3rd party and you know what, I just might vote for him.
I'm sick of the GOPe cretins tripping over themselves to apologize every time some off-the-cuff remark by Donald Trump gets overblown. Much less some remark from a nobody like David Duke.
I could go on and on and on with more examples, but you get the idea.
BEcause they all lose their jobs and power if he gets elected. The President pw3ns the national party apparatus. It will be the Trump Republican Party at that point. It IS the end of the line for the Rinse Piuses of the world.
No one that participated in the 24 hours of hate yesterday will ever get my support. None of them! It was the most outrageous attack on the American voter I have ever witnessed. They can all burn!
Sounds like MITT will not try to get on the ballot for California Primary of June 7.

It was all the same. Romney, Left Cuban, Right Cuban, Fox News, all of them. Everyone involved in the GET TRUMP show that went down yesterday is a piece of garbage. Every last one of them.

If he doesn’t make it on the first ballot, there is still going to be a stadium full of rabid Trump delegates and cruzovers to fight back against shenanigans. But I don’t think it will get that far.

Romney & Ryan are running a tag team attack against Trump.
However, the best line I saw yet was:
‘They both are worried about the futures of the Republican Party’.
Enter Trump===who is ‘worried about the FUTURE OF THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.’
No, never violence. Don’t even think that way.
We outnumber the GOPe elites ... if they walk away WE BECOME the party...
This is a contest of ideas and values... it’s ‘the American People’ vs ‘DC elites’...
We’ll win and it’ll be fair and square.
