Mitt Romney has instructed his closest advisers to explore the possibility of stopping Donald Trump at the Republican National Convention, a source close to Romney's inner circle says.
The 2012 GOP nominee's advisers are examining what a fight at the convention might look like and what rules might need revising.
"It sounds like the plan is to lock the convention," said the source.
Romney is focused on suppressing Trump's delegate count to prevent him from accumulating the 1,237 delegates he needs to secure the nomination.
But implicit in Romney's request to his team to explore the possibility of a convention fight is his willingness to step in and carry the party's banner into the fall general election as the Republican nominee. Another name these sources mentioned was House Speaker Paul Ryan, Romney's running mate in 2012.

I am originally from Wisconsin & I would spank Paul Ryan if I could get to him.
He was named Speaker & then he folded like a cheap suit when Obama game them the spending bill he wanted. Ryan got it passed without a whimper.
He stabbed us in the back, IMO. Don’t want him to even continue in Congress. I think he will lose his seat this year in Wisconsin.
Trump may not win. But I’m hoping he will at least have destroyed the rino party.

And it’s been this way for a while now. They want the tax-paying “unwashed masses” to believe there are 2 parties but they are really one in the same. The American People are starting to realize the UniParty dicatatorship that has a stranglehold around their necks....and they ain’t real happy about it.
IF Trump is denied the nomination, he will likely run as an independent practically guaranteeing a UniParty POTUS and the final destruction of the nation as we know it. Then again, he might just win as an independent.
We are close to the point of having to move from the ballot box to the ammo box...and the UniParty knows it. They need this next POTUS cycle to firmly cement their regime over the will of the People.
Trump IS our only chance of breaking it.

I can’t provide a link. It was on TV. I watched it. You said some said he played dumb......well I guess some could see it that way, but I heard him say clearly that the winner of delegates will be the nominee. He was humored by the questions that their is a war on Trump. He said he didn’t know Romney was going to do this. He also said that Trump would get 100 percent of the RNC’s support in the general.
Romney is a sellout and a betrayer. He threw the 1994 election trying to outlib Ted Kennedy when it was his for the taking. Then he sucked up to Obama, refused to mention Benghazi, and got bullied by Elsie The Cow.
Willard doesn’t have a conservative bone in his body, and the SC justices he would nominate would be along the lines of David Souter. To even advocate for this toady says we should be defending another GOP-E led hold your nose election. Willard wasn’t going to win four years ago. He saw to that himself.
