That’s nuts.
The only Islamic countries mainly affected are Malaysia and Brunei. And the economic class in Malaysia are Chinese and Indian, and Brunei is about as Islamic as Rihanna.
The rest are Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, the Philippines and Taiwan. Shipping lanes Westward for South Korea and Japan also.
This is important.

I’d like to see Duterte raise this as a campaign issue.
Noy Noy the idiot certainly has failed.

Yes, I know very well.
I have been asking people to look at maps.
Some people seem inclined to make stupid comments.
Like worrying about Muslims living on coral reefs underwater at high tide.

Yes, but this was a failure going back four decades.
Its very expensive to catch up in a hurry. Noynoy has not helped much with the budget, at least not enough to meet the need.
The PAF just started receiving 12 Korean FA-50’s (fast multirole trainers capable of some air defense), but thats just a tiny beginning.
The rich neighbors like Korea, Taiwan, Japan should consider helping out. These are THEIR shipping lanes.

Unfortunately, the PN has never had a submarine.

Wars today are fought “come as you are.” It take years, sometimes decades to build up military forces. The Philippines are screwed, but so are we. The damage done to the US these last few years has been immense. Obama is, of course, to blame, but so are the Republicans who negotiated and agreed on the massive cuts, including Sequestration.

The PI is indefensible and always was.
Its an archipelago that is easily crippled by anyone with dominance of the air and sea. Its a place that can be blockaded internally.
The only way it could, ever, defend itself was in alliance with a great power. It could never have the economic capacity to create and maintain navies and airforces sufficient to defend itself against an enemy great power.

If it were a perfect world that’s exactly what should happen. They have no business being there, and the only reason it’s being allowed is because no one in that region is able to give them a good ass kicking. Except maybe the Japanese if they can ever get it up.

Yes.
They are desperate to get a US base now.

Maybe they will offer to pay for some new US Navy ships.

That’s why you need to counter this crap before it starts...(stitch in time saves nine)

This keeps up and we will have a global meltdown within 15 months..

Freekin Libs.....and now it seems the freekin isolationista’s have made a comeback.

It is true that the PH navy is quite weak, but...... I am in a place here where I see what is going on. Filipino coast guard vessels staying in harbor for weeks without doing any patrol at all. The crew is just tending to their meals, their laundry and their wives for the week-end.

Talk about an efficient use of the available assets.... LOL

US ships are too expensive.
More cost effective would be Russian SAM systems.
If they will sell them, and if they aren’t sabotaged.

You noticed.
Its been the same for 50 years.
Patrolling is expensive. You pay for fuel and maintenance.
The PN runs on a shoestring and always has.
