"It's not the first time Trump has taken a pro-LGBT stance. As far back as 2000, Trump was advocating the idea of amending the 1964 Civil Rights Act to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation - something the currently-pending Equality Act would basically do if lawmakers on Capitol Hill ever decided to pass it.
"Amending the Civil Rights Act would grant the same protection to gay people that we give to other Americans - it’s only fair," Trump told The Advocate in February, 2000.
In the same interview, Trump said he favored "a very strong domestic-partnership law" that guaranteed same-sex couples equal legal rights as married, heterosexual couples.
Trump also said he believed Don't Ask, Don't Tell - the military's then-ban on openly gay service members - had "clearly failed."
Trump's spokesperson, Hope Hicks, did not immediately respond to msnbc's request for comment on where the presidential candidate stood on the Equality Act. But his longstanding support for ending discrimination against gay people has been well documented. ..."

I just popped in on Rush today to hear what propaganda he was spewing just as an ardent Trump supporter from New Mexico called into the show. Before the Trump supporter could even say a word, Rush stopped him and said, I want to ask you a question first about Trump. He then proceeded to foist the “NYT’s Secret Tape” conspiracy onto the caller, implying that Trump’s strong immigration stance was somehow not real or dubious or lies. Now Trump explained in a TV interview about this so called “secret tape” and his philosophy of negotiation. All one has to do is read Art of the Deal and you understand Trump’s Business Speak. Rush knows this...Rush turned me on to reading the book. Yet he took an opportunity to promote the NYT’s anti-Trump agit-prop. He pushed Trump’s use of the word “negotiations” as if Trump adopted a new Globalist position on immigration. I listened for a minute while the Trumpster responded in a most excellent way but I couldn’t listen to it all because I was so disgusted by Rush, I had to shut him down. Does Rush think, we can’t hear his contempt for Trump? He should just own it like Levin does and stop playing the Fair Arbitor. Rush is a Cruzer...so be a Cruzer!
