The RNC is filled with incestuous relationships. From the top on down. The media talking heads, the party talking heads, the actual members of the GOP-e. If we were to follow the family tree of any supposed conservative GOP-e on any of the ladder rungs, we would find a hand in hand relationship with a NWO, open border, anti-American.

Only by accident will these incestuous relations be known. Donald J. Trump has opened the doors to show WTP how these black hated operators manage to operate - This is just a beginning to the end of the GOP-e. It remains to be seen if WTP feel the party should be put out of its misery and extinguished from the American landscape. GOP-has lost its way and no longer a party of WTP, for the people, or even by the people. TRUMP intends this to be the beginning of a new party. One which puts AMERICANS first. Before, any foreign hottentots, party leaders, donors. To make AMERICA great again we must wash to lands of the fungus among us.
I STAND WITH TRUMP!!

“As an aside, it’s worth noting that if the Dems win the Senate, they can approve Obama’s Supreme Court nominee even if Trump wins the election.”

Assuming the Republicans show up to open the session first. But I agree - that would be interesting.

As far as coattails go - it’s hard to see Rubio/Bush/Romney having any coattails - and if Trump doesn’t get the nomination, one of them (or Linda) most certainly will - as Cruz will NEVER get enough delegates to win on the first ballot, not at this point, not even close - all he can do is help stop Trump, which seems to be his objective now.

That was my point about McCain - run a candidate that can’t get the base out and BAD THINGS happen.

Wish Trumpazine could be offered with kittens, but they say the manufacturing process would take too long :-)

I suppose Trumpazine would work for both kinds of derangement.

There's also a natural non-chemical cure for TDS.  Help is on the way for sufferers of all kinds.

I guess you are missing the stats where Trump is drawing record numbers of voters to the caucuses and primaries so far. The GOP wanted and needed a bigger tent, Trump is doing just that, and all the bedwetters can do is moan about the harm he is inflicting on the party.

No, I didn't miss that. But you failed to address a single point I made about why those people aren't going to be reelectig a bunch of Republican Senators.

These "new voters" are not "pro-Republican". They are "pro-Trump", and against Washington politicians, which necessarily includes the 24 Republicans running for Senate seats.

You don't have to believe me. Just read the posts from all the Freepers who want to get rid of those Senators and the "GOP-E".

Well, hopefully the bad ones such as Ayotte can get primaried. If not, they hopefully will be retained, but they also need to get serious about adapting to Trump’s message if they want to win, instead of pedding more of the same. Folks are tired of that.

Spoken with authority Mr. Lee. Are you by chance a descendant of that gentleman general Robert E. Lee?

I agree that it's time for the GOPe to be put out of it's misery.  Besides, the elephant is not a dignified symbol of the lean and efficient government that Trump will bring to our country.

We need a new name and a new "mascot".  The animal must be dignified, top of the food chain, and native born.  So I recommend the American Cougar.

And I like the name, Self-Reliant Party because that's really the virtue we hope our party members aspire to.

When I was only 10 years old, president John F. Kennedy proclaimed in his inauguration speech, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

Well, that self-reliant theme has now been turned on its ear by about 40% of voters.  This is the real tragedy we face today -- a decay in the civic virtue of the average citizen.  And Obama, the DemoRATs and GOPe has taken us further down this path of national destruction.

So much work to be done!  And voting in Trump is the first big step on the way to renewal of our American heritage of free pioneers and a strong, self-reliant people.

I really like this picture, it shows how strong lions are and now there are two of them plus the one Governor from Maine...he’s a lion also....

‘We are lions, hear us roar!’

Amen, amen to BOTH of your excellent posts.

You both have so eloquently explained what is going on, within the corrupted GOPe party, what Trump represents....TRUE hope to turn this mess and malaise around....and, pocono, you’ve illustrated BEAUTIFULLY the perfect image/mascot and truths, to which we must continue on with.

Thank you both. Very inspirational.

This must have skipped trials and been introduced to the public under an emergency proclamation.

Very cogent points in your post, especially on the number of Republican seats up for reelection.

In my opinion, if some republican senators lose their offices, it will not be because of a Trump candidacy, but because of their own records. Here are the seats that I see have the potential to switch to democrat:

LA Vitter (retiring)
PA Toomey
WI Johnson
AZ McCain
OH Portman
NH Ayotte
IL Kirk
FL Rubio (retiring) (a maybe but not likely flip)

I just don’t see a more moderate candidate (since we have to choose from what’s left, a Rubio or Kasich) doing anything to shore up these seats in any way. These senators have made their beds and now have to lie in them. I think they all would have been safer seats had they been voting more conservatively, but that is their fault, certainly not Trump’s.

Now would these senators LOVE to campaign with Rubio or Kasich? Of course they would. But we all know that Rubio and Kasich are not going to be the nominee, and if they were, they would lose, just as Romney did, so these senators campaigning with a losing candidate would be the same as Romney in ‘12.

Now if either Trump or Cruz is the nominee, I see the playing field as different. For one, if Cruz is the nominee, not a single conservative will stay home, and will “save” some of these seats from defeat just as the people voted for worthless republican in 2014, just to take control of the Senate.

And if Trump is the nominee, he will bring swarms of people to the polls as he already has done, overwhelming the “close losses” trend of recent years that have given democrats seats. And just look at Kentucky, where Matt Bevin was swept into office on account of Trump-mania.

I think this “Trump will hurt down-ballot races” is an Establishment meme to discourage support for Trump or Cruz, to get their preferred candidate nominated (who will lose). I don’t see it as realistic. I think with Trump or Cruz there will be a landslide. Though, even in landslides, as in 1972 and 1984, there have been no gains or even losses in congress.

You may be absolutely right. But at this point, we’re down to three choices (Carson and Kasich are going nowhere): Trump, Cruz or Rubio. As I see it, Trump or Cruz will win, and will thus save some of these worthless moderates, while Rubio will definitely lose and may bring several seats that might have hung on with him.

Don’t really know. We’ll see. Events are moving at lightning speed right now, and we are literally in the midst of the storm, where everything is murky at best.

No, Gen Lee is no ancestor. However, I am a true southerner born and raised in the south. In Texas when Texas was remembered as oil, cattle, and Dallas. Like most Americans, the breed is ‘mutt’ with many different twists and turns on the limbs of the family tree. German, Cherokee to name but two. And, LOL, no need for the Mr. or Ms - just call me VK.

The cougar is a possible mascot..sleek, fast, and dangerous. The lion would be the choice here but the image seen as more African lion rather than American mountain lion. We agree on the same family and the fact it should never be the ‘turtle or tortoise. :-))

Our new party Mascot. Time to rid ourselves of the pachyderm and the luggage he carries. We need a mascot to depict our fighting nature. Because if we are not fighting, we will be eaten by the vultures encircling US The skies are dark with them.

One could argue that the GOPe has acted in a traitorous fashion, putting the interests of foreign govts ahead of US interests. A good prosecutor might even get the worst of the State Dept officials and some Senators found guilty and hung. Yep. They better be scared. Soros isn’t going to rescue them.

If Trump actually makes it a point during the campaign to encourage his supporters to vote for GOP Senators, it might work. But...you can read this thread as well as I can, and you clearly have Trump supporters who, at best, don't care if those GOP Senators win or lose.

I see two basic categories of Trump supporters. The first consists of those who aremaking a rational calculation that he is the best vehicle for attaining desired change in a screwed up system. Imperfect, but the best option we have because the system needs to be shaken up before it can be fixed, so he's the best choice even if he's not really a conservative. I don't agree, but I can respect the opinion.

Then there is the second category that are essentially out for blood, and want to destroy everything except Trump. And if you try to make rational arguments like "we need the Senate to save the Supreme Court", they just don't want to hear itm. It is pure, mindless emotion.

And if there are two many of those folks, we lose the Senate. Maybe it'll be The Donald's first test of leadership to see if he can control or redirect those impulses.
