House Speaker Ryan: Trump tapping into voter anger
cnbc.com ^ | February 23, 2015 | Matthew J. Belvedere

House Speaker Paul Ryan said Tuesday the rise of Donald Trump can be explained by voters being fed-up that America is on the wrong track. Ryan blamed the progressive policies of President Barack Obama.

"You have conservatives, like myself, ... who are very upset about the direction of the country," Ryan told "Squawk Box" on CNBC. "You have people in America panicked because they have economic anxiety."

As House speaker, Ryan is not supporting any one candidate as the nomination contests continue.

"There's nothing we can do about what's going on in the presidential election and what the outcome of that is in Congress," said Ryan, who said he's going to concentrate on crafting a conservative agenda that a Republican president can help execute.

Trump, the GOP front-runner, takes his weekend win in South Carolina and his victory earlier this month in New Hampshire into Tuesday's Nevada caucus. Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz look to halt Trump's roll.

Next week's Super Tuesday contests feature primaries in Cruz's home state of Texas, Virginia, and many others. And then on March 15, the day states can award delegates on a winner-take-all basis, Rubio's home base of Florida is among states going to the polls.

Trump's home state of New York holds its primary on April 19, with the final contests coming later that month and in May and early June. The Republican Party holds its nominating convention in Cleveland, Ohio in mid-July.

Ryan will play a key role at the GOP convention, which is run under the rules of the House of Representatives. The speaker presides over the convention, and typically opens and closes the gathering.

Mr. Ryan, it is Cheap Labor Express stooges like you that have engendered that anger by actively working against the people of this country who want the bordersand laws enforced.

Most of the RNC/GOP is owned lock, stock and barrel by The Cheap Labor Express.
They have been actively working against the wishes of the people for decades.
Enabling the illegal alien inundation while giving lip service to national security.
GWB reduced border and interior enforcement AFTER 9/11.
Kay Bailey Hutchinson defunded the Secure Fence Act with an amendment in a subsequent bill.
They will burn the party to the ground rather than let us elect a President who would enforce the laws.

They are arrogant, they are far from stupid or clueless.
They have been playing conservatives for years and years.
We have only had amnesty candidates since the last amnesty.
It wasn’t accidental.

More and more of our wonderful Congress Critters will come to understand they too must face the voters this year.

After Trump secures the nomination, watch for him to start working to get a like minded Congress.

Trump will have long coat tails.

Mr Ryan would do well to take a lesson from Mr Trump.

We expected as much from Obama. What we didn’t expect is “conservatives” (choke, choke, cough, cough) like you to betray us over and over and over and over and over....

Ryan blamed the progressive policies of President Barack Obama.

Sure. Blame everyone except himself and the asinine policies of the GOP establishment. No surprise there.

Apparently Ryan does not realize that he and other DC GOPers like him are the biggest part of the problem. He does not get it.

Ryan should be sure to take responsibility for his part in creating the voter anger!

His answer just goes to show how out of touch those jerks are in DC. Cantor's primary loss did not wake them up. Bohner leaving just ahead of the posse did not wake them up either. Ryan, it is people like you who say one thing to get elected or to mislead the voters into thinking you are doing something while working your deals.

We are mad as hell and we are not going to take it any more...how about that. Meanwhile, it is no different than what is going on in the dem party too, some of their electorate has come to the realization they have been voting for hacks for years. That along with this “primary” being rigged for the insiders’ candidate: Hitlery. Even some dems have some integrity and do not wish to see a fleeing felon and harborer of a criminal as their candidate.

Trump is not only tapping into anger and frustration.

He is also expressing the sentiments and solutions that most Americans feel.

For example, the elite, globalists are horrified by his announcing that we would have a moratorium on Muslim immigration. Yet in each of the et polls at these primaries we find between 56 and 67% of the people absolutely agree with it.

No, Paul, it’s a lot more than tapping into anger and frustration. It is also his saying he is going to do something about it, and people not only believing him...but WNATING Him to do those things.

That is why so many support him. They are tired of weasel politicians who feign being against these things...and then getting to DC and doing the opposite.

What is Ryan “tapping into”? Certainly not the Constitution, which he swore an oath to uphold, but has upheld Obama’s will instead.

Oh, they get it alright.
They’re fighting against it.
The stunning defeat of Cantor (I helped) was about amnesty.
Keeping Cochran at all costs was about amnesty.
It’s all about amnesty and keeping the Cheap Labor Express running.
