Trump: I’ll be ‘neutral’ on Israel and Palestine
The Hill ^ | 02/17/2016 | Mark Hensch

GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Wednesday refused to pick sides in the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

"You know, I don’t want to get into it," he told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski during a MSNBC town hall in Charleston, S.C.

Repeating odawg

(Trump) said it was maybe impossible because the Palestinians are taught from birth to hate Jews, but would be willing to give it a try.

Deceptive headline

Right, like if you are going to work out a peace agreement between God and Satan, you can’t pick sides. How would you ever expect to broker a peace agreement? it is all about deals, right? Moral equivalency, all sides are equal./i>

I do not agree with this whole "Israel is lily clean" or is Godlike. Israel is a secular state that has utterly nothing to do with the Israel from the Bible. They don't even permit Christian missionaries there. They get spat on and reported to the police. They offer abortion on demand and have an extremely ethnic-based immigration policy, then they accuse other countries of not being moral because they won't let in refugees. Officially, Israel does not permit people to enter Israel for missionary purposes. From the scriptural view, Christians are the "Israel of God," the children of Abraham through faith, through Jesus Christ who is the heir of Abraham and the recipient of all the promises God made to Israel. This is basic, Reformed/Presbyterian teaching as well.

Thus, I reject this whole "Israel is 100 percent perfect" nonsense.

After reading the article I am not as concerned with his actual comments.

Trump's being realistic here. The Palestinians stand in they way of peace. That may never change.

Of course I agree America FIRST !!!
But your telling me that we are going to elect a President that only talks about building a WALL..
Agrees to have a Muslim on the Cabinet ( he said he LIKES THEM)
and basically puts both Israel and Palestine in the same pot as co-equal, that all we need to do is focus here at home first? HA.. dream on!!!

I saw the “Town Hall” tonight, and Donald Trump said he had talk to several Israeli businessmen about the issue, and that is might not be possible to make the deal, but he would try. Since he was going to try, he didn’t want to muddy the negotiations by saying anything about either side’s positions.

I agree with Trump 100% . First, we did not take them to raise. Second , if we negotiate for some stability in the region we must have balance to get that done because they hate each other. I am a Christian. If you believe in Christ , you ARE saved. I do not understand this adulation of the Jews after the Crucifixion. It has been 2017 years .They have the same requirements we do. Read John 3:16. Go Trump.

None is righteous, no not one. but there is a huge difference between the Israelis and Arab communities right now. There attacks every day to murder Israelis. The gulf of immorality between the sides is is too great not to take sides unless you are immoral. There is a huge difference between social flaws and genocide. Most Arabs want every Jew dead and many are willing to make it their life’s goal. Use a just weight and balance and the favor comes down on the side of Israel.

If you're trying to make peace between two sides, you don't sit there and say that you have no intention of listening to Palestinian grievances. People like Ben Shapiro want full on ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians (while saying Trump's Muslim moratorium is unethical). That really is the only logical conclusion you can have if we take your POV--- throw out all the Palestinians if you're not willing to stay neutral in negotiations.

why exactly do we support Israel, from anther viewpoint they don;t really do anything for us

Oh, Israel doesn't really do anything for us, eh? Shows how IGNORANT you are. Israel was the primary developer of the cell phone. Israel has brought the world (including ignorant you) important medical advances in the area of cancer, AIDS, epilepsy, Parkinsons disease, liver disease, emphysema, the Pillcam, first artificial heart transplant, many vaccines, pioneering work in desalination technology, world-renown work in arid area agriculture, Pentium and Celeron processors were developed there, antivirus technology was developed there, the email algorithm was developed there, as was Video on Demand technology, ebook technology, electric car technology, solving bee colony collapse, generic drugs (Israel's Teva Pharma is the world's largest manufacturer of generics), the cherry tomato was originated there, baby monitoring devices were invented there, HP's Indigo digital printing processes were developed there, and innumerable other medical and technology contributions. And, Israel was the first or one of the first responders to many world crises in other countries, bringing doctors, nurses, medical supplies, etc.

Don't do anything for us? You couldn't be more wrong.

to his credit, he did say “I was with a very prominent Israeli the other day and he said it’s impossible because the other side has been trained from the time they’re children to hate Jewish people. I’m going to give it a shot.”

Thats very different than Soetoro likening the Holocaust to the Terrorstinian “nakba” or whatever they call their permanent UN-welfare refugees, but still, this saddens me, especially as one who wants to support Trump. Trump should be the one saying that the Palestinians don’t deserve a state until they show honour to the Jewish State and renounce radical Islamic terrorism. He’s just given Hillary a monster opening to keep the Jewish vote from flooding to the GOP after 8 years of uppity Hussein’s treatment of Bibi.
