This nomination needs to be rejected out of hand. Obama cannot be allowed to appoint Scalia’s replacement.
McConnell will go for the deal because he, like Trump, is a dealmaker with the other side and he knows he will be able to cut deals with Trump but not with Cruz and Obama will go for the deal because he will get a leftist judge and Obama knows that Trump will be more easily beaten than Cruz in the general election.
Funny how a real emergency turns all these petty battles to the dust they deserve to be?
It will be interesting to see what 0bama thinks he'll be able to get away with with regard to a nominee. Someone whose rejection will be able to be used as political fodder, no doubt - a minority woman or an openly gay candidate might be just the ticket. He understands it isn't likely that any nominee of his will be confirmed, so the sky is the limit. It could backfire, of course, but if you own the press as he does it won't.

I see no reason that Trump would not make mince meat out of either Hillary, OR Bernie. I’d be afraid of Cruz trying something too clever by half, once more.
