Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.
Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa. According to a report, Scalia arrived at the ranch on Friday and attended a private party with about 40 people. When he did not appear for breakfast, a person associated with the ranch went to his room and found a body.
U.S. District Judge Fred Biery said he was among those notified about Scalia's death.
"I was told it was this morning," Biery said of Scalia's death. "It happened on a ranch out near Marfa. As far as the details, I think it's pretty vague right now as to how," he said. "My reaction is it's really unfortunate with any death. And now, politically, in the presidential cycle we're in my educated guess is nothing will happen before the next president is elected."

I am utterly heartbroken. I have told my wife for years that meeting Antonin Scalia just once was on my bucket list. His thoughtful jurisprudence will be sorely missed. God speed, Antonin, we will all miss you.

Some will probably be tied at 4-to-4, meaning that the lower court’s decision will normally be final for any specific “tied” case.
Ginsburg will resign - guaranteed - to force the Senate to allow “at least one” Obama appointment.

I have to tell you, I hear that sh*t all the time. The first time you go out into your yard and have like four .308’s with night scopes trained on you, you will give up.

Period. I’ve heard all the bravado and gung-ho.

I don’t know. With Trump, an outsider, so popular, the GOP in DC are seeing how much we hate them and how we are desperate to get rid of them. And we know how much they love the DC party life and gravy train. Maybe they’ll straighten up and fly right.

Unfortunately, I don’t see the nation going a full year with only eight Justices on the Supreme Court.
