Any US company that tosses out Americans and employs foreigners betrays their country and jeopardizes our future.
They’re the enemy every bit as much as Leftists trying to facilitate sharia law.

A tariff does not prevent anyone form buying anything. Now an embargo would prevent the freedom form buying imported goods. Nobody is asking for an embargo (yet).

Hey, I asked this on another thread a while back . . . when I vote Trump (if and because he is the GOP nominee), and the only reason I vote for him is because he is the GOP nominee . . . does that make me GOPe?

That's very true.

However, most of these companies disdain the identification as a "US Company".

Funny you should mention that . . . I noticed that the ice I bought at the liquor store this afternoon (yes, it is 12F outside right now, but I won't bore you with the story) was labeled, "Made in U.S.A." Made me chuckle.

Although, I am in Detroit and I suppose ice can be shipped across the border either way . . . .

With respect to its colonies, British mercantilism meant that the government and the merchants became partners with the goal of increasing political power and private wealth, to the exclusion of other empires. The government protected its merchants and kept others out through trade barriers, regulations, and subsidies to domestic industries in order to maximize exports from and minimize imports to the realm. The government had to fight smuggling, which became a favorite American technique in the 18th century to circumvent the restrictions on trading with the French, Spanish, or Dutch. The goal of mercantilism was to run trade surpluses, so that gold and silver would pour into London. The government took its share through duties and taxes, with the remainder going to merchants in Britain. The government spent much of its revenue on a superb Royal Navy, which not only protected the British colonies but threatened the colonies of the other empires, and sometimes seized them. Thus the British Navy captured New Amsterdam (New York) in 1664. The colonies were captive markets for British industry, and the goal was to enrich the mother country.[29]

But for the record I do believe anyone who works full time should make a living.

All of which, if true, means that they are doing it on purpose, to destroy this country.

You know this what the other candidates call, “free market”.

There is no free market when one side pays taxes and the other side foes not.

It’s called “rigged market”.

What about foreign companies operating manufacturing facilities in the U.S.? (For the record, I work for a U.S. manufacturing company—don’t want anyone to get confused). Tax the snot out of them too?

I guess you’d add “freedom to wreck our own country, freedom to destroy our industrial and skilled base and freedom to allow China to take the lead”.

Sorry, our American national interests and future capabilities Trump self-serving company owners.

Get it?

I don’t know that they do. However, they probably receive the same “energy tax” credits that Whirlpool does. Whirlpool used their credits to eliminate over 800 jobs in 2012 and moved manufacturing to Mexico.

I have not researched this but I would say most, but not all, of the products manufactured in the USA by foreign companies are for the US market. But I'll bet some of it is shipped back to the home country. My guess would be that they have to pay a tariff to import them back into there home country.

Obviously, no: it is in our national self interest to facilitate foreign companies who employ Americans. You know the difference as well as I do.

By EO Trump could vacate the NAFTA trade agreement. He has the balls to do it.

Actually they do receive subsidies.

Carrier lays off 1,400 workers, moves to Mexico after receiving millions in tax credits to keep green jobs in the U.S.
