Turkey Shells Aleppo, Says "Massive Escalation" In Syria Imminent As Saudis Ready Airstrikes
Zerohedge ^ | 02/13/2016 | Tyler Durdin

As you can see, Turkey has begun shelling Aleppo in what is indeed a very serious escalation that will likely prompt a Russian response.

"Shelling was reported at Menagh air base, a former Syrian Air Force facility that Kurds seized from Islamist rebels just days ago, and at three other positions between the airport and Turkish border," The Independent reports. "The air base has been a key target for several parties in the Syrian civil war since 2012, being besieged by rebels for almost a year until it was seized by a coalition including an early form of Isis and the al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra in August 2013 [and] it remained in rebel hands until Thursday, when Kurdish PYD fighters capitalised on the diversion caused by Bashar al-Assad’s forces and Russian air strikes attacking rebel areas to the south to seize Menagh."

"A Kurdish official confirmed the shelling of Menagh air base in the northern Aleppo countryside, which he said had been captured by the Kurdish-allied Jaysh al-Thuwwar group rather than the Kurdish YPG militia," Reuters says, adding that "Both are part of the Syria Democratic Forces alliance." That group, you're reminded, was the subject of intense scrutiny late last year as we documented in our classic piece "Full Metal Retard: US Launches "Performance-Based" Ammo Paradrop Program For Make-Believe 'Syrian Arabs.'" It's the same group the US has been paradropping weapons to.

To sum up, Turkey is deliberately attempting to reverse gains made by the US-backed Kurds in an area that is under siege by the Russians and Iran. Or, more simply: utter chaos.

Yep... he also whipped Iran into shape too so they'll never try to acquire nukes or ballistic missiles. He's a miracle worker!

I certainly hope option 4 is off the table.

I share the hope, but I would not exclude this, in fact we are closest to IT ever since the Carib crisis now.

The problem is the level of incompetence of the current administration, at no point they know what they are doing.

how anyone thinks a nuclear war on a large scale can benefit anybody is beyond me, but they do.

Rather simple... both the Turkish and the Saudi regimes are in deep trouble right now --- anything to change this will do --- and besides, would not a nuclear exchange between the US and Russia make the World more accepting of Islam ? (NOT my thinking, but theirs).

I only wonder what the golfer thinks about this....

My reply to a person who we were talking in a thread about Kerry and his infamous deal. This is what is happening and why.

Is not hard to dig into this BS these days.
Youtube is our friend and so is the internet.

I be danged if Putin himself didnt spill the beans on this. Then, all I did was see if he was out and out lying or not.
I found out that most of the problems in the Ukraine area related to the pipelines running across there. Then, if the Saudis get a pipeline across Syria, Putin loses the monopoly into Europe. If Putin gains a foothold in that area, he will control about 60% of the worlds oil. He CAN NOT afford to lose that monopoly. The Russian economy is already at its breaking point.
On the other hand, Obama is supplying Isis. The Saudis are controlling Obama, as they did with Bush. That is why we went into Iraq most likely. The Turks are into this up to their eyes and making a hell of a lot of money off it. So they supply Isis also and make out like they dont. That is why Iran and the Saudis are going at it. Iran thinks it can take that area and the oil with the help of Russia.
The key is the Kurds. Nobody likes them and they could hold the key to the whole thing. Break that Cartel, stop Putins advances into that area and the whole thing calms down to a point.

Utter chaos is the right description.
There are more sides in this war than anyone sane can keep track of.

That’s an apt analogy, via Yugoslavia, but this is much more complex even than that.

Texas. They said some fallout would be carried all over and the cows could consume it from the gas and pass onto the milk. That’s what they said on the news.
