by Cathy Burke
Donald Trump has a commanding lead in the GOP presidential primary field in South Carolina in two new polls – including one in which the real estate billionaire has more than double the support of his nearest rival, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

The surveys, the South Carolina House Republican Caucus, and the Opinion Savvy Poll, come just eight days ahead of the Palmetto State's Feb. 20 primary.

Here's the breakdown in the South Carolina House Republican Caucus survey:
Trump beats the competition among conservatives, moderates, libertarians, independent and across age groups – and even edges out Cruz with tea party Republicans, 37 percent to 36 percent.

The results were posted by The Hill.

In the Opinion Savvy survey, the results show:

I hope everyone is cool with our two anti-establishment guys taking 1 and 2.

I just wish they’d stop breaking on each other.

The salient point here is that Trump/s winning total in NH showed his poll numbers underestimated his bang-up win.

I have a feeling that SC will be a totally lopsided trouncing that NH was. Then, it’s on to NV, where he will trounce them all over again.

What this means is that as winner, Trump automatically walks away with 29 of the 50 S.C. delegates, plus a share of the other 21 delegates that are proportionally allocated to the congressional districts. Look for Trump to win at least 36 or more of the 50 delegates.

It will be a YUGE win.

But this can’t be. I thought Trump was finished after his profane term for a vagina comment about Cruz?

This is Waterloo time for Cruz. If he loses by 10+ points in SC, I think he heads for 2nd & 3rd tier status.

Vagina?
What the heck are you talking about?

Trump was referencing that Cruz reminded him of a 600cc - 650cc Panther. Known affectionately as the Big Pussy.

This can’t be right. All the ‘experts’ said the SC evangelicals would give Cruz a big vote and make him competitive with Trump.

As I’ve posted several times now, the experts and many non-southerners know little about southern evangelicals.

They’re not into Elmer Gantry style campaigns.

No. He was finished long ago. When he insulted the war hero.

A Harvard educated government lawyer with financial ties to Wall St. doesn’t exactly fit the mold of an authentic anti-establishment figure, wouldn’t you agree?
