Nazism is on the right side of socialism while communism is on the left side. Communism demands total control of production by the State, while Nazism is more like Fascism permitting citizens to own the means of production as long as they go along with what the State desires - AKA: crony capitalism.
The right and left sides of the political spectrum also derives from the British system of Liberals sitting on one side of Parliament and the Torres on the other.
US Constitutional conservative political philosophy is in a different spectrum altogether. It also seems fair to say that the current GOPe and the Democrats have more in common with the Fascists and the Communists respectively than in US Constitutional conservatism.

Not everyone who is a nationalist, or a populist is a dictator in waiting. And you seem to omit the most important aspect of the discussion, SOCIALISM. Onambla is a dictator wannabe, and a communist. The one common thread among dictators since 1848 is Socialism/Communism, not liberty and free market economics.
